Car Seat Drama

anyone have any car seat advive?  Mady absolutely hates her car seat, she screams bloody murder if she is not sleeping.  She gets all red and sweaty.  We've tried everything, help

Oh my gosh!  I am sooo sorry... that has to be rough.  I don't have any advice, only sympathy :(  

Okay... I just though of a suggestion... although I don't know if it will work.  KNowing that you won't be going anywhere... maybe place her in the car seat and don't strap her in, just have her sit in it.  Then, while she is sitting in the seat play with her, sing to her, that sort of thing.  Make it fun for her to be in the seat.  Just get her used to being in there even though you aren't going any where.  Hopefully that makes sense.  Then, eventually... maybe put her arms through the straps and do the same routine.  I am thinking that if it is a positive thing for her to be in there, then she won't mind it so much.

Mark hates his car seat as well. Luckily we have two different ones for different vehicles. Once we started using the other one he stopped crying while he was in it.

Hayden fusses when she goes in the car seat - so I always do it at the last possible min before we leave - usually I put the car seat in a stroller and GO GO GO. Once we start moving she is fine - or at least within a few minutes of going. It works out well. I also love Ovaz's suggestion.

But get her in and then go and see if the motion relaxes her.

If we get MAdy in and go we are usually ok, but if it takes to long we are in bug trouble.  MAybe I will put her in the seat for our walks and not just the stroller.  I started ovaz suggestion today we made it about 7 minutes.  HEy its a start I think we will try at least everyday if not more and keep trying in the car too.  Thanks

They have toys you can put on carseats I think. Ones that dangle so maybe she can play while in it and that will keep her occupied?
