Car Seats

Hi ladies,

We are in the process of buying a convertible car seat. I think we are going to get a Britax (Diplomat). According to reviews and stuff this one seems to be the best of cars or smaller SUVs (anything with limited back seat room). I was just wondering what everyone else is thinking of buying or have bought and why?

We will just be using Micah's carseat as he is in a booster now. It is the Britax and we really like it.

we bought the britax all around convertable - she's been in it for months! can you wait until after Xmas? bet there will be deals galore!

Thanks ladies! I really appreciate it. :) I agree with Kele...I hate the fact that we have to buy two carseats in one year. Augh! Where am I going to store all this stuff? ;)

Irish - we live in a high rise in downtown chicago - we don't have any storage left, so I keep "loaning" everything out! It is like free storage! but I hear you on this...

Ah...another apartment/condo dweller (we live in an apartment). Unfortunately I have no one to loan anything to. :( I am at the tail end of all my friends with kids...oh well. Good thought though. I guess our closets will have to do for now. I just don't want to ever open them again. ;) I am hoping the purchase of a house next summer will unclutter my life.

btw - DH and I were thinking sometime in the somewhat distant future about making a weekend trip to Chicago. If we ever do I will have to hit you up for some recommendations for good food and drink (assuming I will not be pregnant again). ;)

We haven't even started looking.  Leighotn is in the Chicco something or other that she can be in until she is 30lbs. or is too long for the seat.  Neither of those things have happened, so until then...

But, this is a good topic that I will follow since obviously she will grow out of the rear facing one sooner than I realize!  haha

I didn't even think about the after Christmas deals, but that may be motivation to buy one then :)  Good thought!
