Drinking Egg Nog

So, this probably sounds like a crazy question...it is now that time when I go to the grocery store, and there is egg nog!!!  Yum!  Of course, it has egg yolks in it, so my question is if anyone knows any info. about pregnant women being able to drink it.  I asked some ladies at school, but no one really knew!  This would be the first year in a long time with no egg nog!  Thanks for any help you can offer!

I heard you can drink store-bought egg nog.. but not home-made egg nog.. Hope this helps!

Well...obviously you wouldn't drink the liquor store egg nog...haha but if it says "pasturized" then you can drink it safely. It is just the unpasturized you can't. Just like you can eat raw cookie dough if it says pasturized eggs or if you used pasturized eggs..which it is really hard to find unpasturized now anyways. So I would say it would be safe to consume most forms of egg nog this season.

yeah - as long as it is pasteurized - b/c when it goes thru this process they boil it first then chill and boiling it kills bacteria.

hahahah what a ? she asked as the old man tried to tell me that i couldnt buy any .. im sorry but i am a lover for egg nog. so i bought it and i enjoyed a nice ole cup of it.. it is so yummy as he thinks it is grossss. hahah more for me and the baby. its safe just leave the liquor out of it.=)

Thanks so much, ladies!  I forgot about the whole pasteurized issue!  That makes sense!  All these crazy things to think about...it can drive anyone crazy!  Yea, I get to drink egg nog...without alcohol, of course!  I don't think I've actually ever had it with alcohol!
