I think CarterCarters little pills had a nightmare last night, it was horrible. He stayed up later then normalNormal saline flush as we were at a Spice Party. He fell asleep on the way home (it was so sweet, DH wouldn't take him up to the crib when he got home, he just wanted to cuddle him because he hadn't seen him all day). ANYWAYS at 1am he woke up SCREAMING but yet he wasn't really awake, he never opened his eyes. I tried to calm him and I also changed his diaper because he has been wetting through at night...but he was still SCREAMING and still hadnt opened his eyes. His soother wouldn't work, so DH got a bottle ready with a few oz. He ate just 1oz and was asleep. So i took him to bed with me for a bit and he would just all the sudden open his eyes, then close them again. After about 10 minutes he was finally in a deep sleep si i put him back in his crib, at about 3:30 he started fusing a bit so i went and brought him back to bed and he slept until 6:30. Do you think he had a nightmare? When he was screaming i couldn't get him to open his eyes at all
I don't know about boys but sometimes Blake fills up her diaper and her outfit will be damp...not wet really but definitely damp. She is in the Pampers Cruisers 3s. I think Huggies are awful too. She definitely pees out of them! We haven't had a problem with the 3s. Blake is over 17 pounds too. I think you should try just 3s...but like I said I don't know about boys and how they aim ;)
Blake had a nightmare last night too!!! Weird. I just had to hold her and put her binky in her mouth...that worked. But yeah she woke me up at exactly he same times CarterCarters little pills woke you up.. So that is actually kind of creepy! haha Maybe they are on some baby nightmare frequency or something.
Jack has been having the same issue with the leaking at night. What I did was use a larger diaper for the nighttime. So right now he is in 3s for the daytimeDaytime cold Daytime cold & flu relief Daytime liquicap and in 4s for the nighttime. I also heard that Pampers cruisers are more for the daytime and the babydry is for the night since they hold more.
Augh...I hate this computer, anyway it posted before I was done typing. So anyway, I hope that info helps. As for the nightmare possibility you could be correct. Jack did something similar a while ago, not as intense but he did wake up crying but never had his eyes open. It has only happened once though.
We are in Pampers swaddlers size 2 and have never leaked...we have never had a blow out either...must have a freakishly tidy baby.
We have had a nightmare before though. Scared the heck out of us to be woken up to such a terrified cry. Poor baby, he sobbed in our arms for about an hour before going back to sleep.
my hubby had a blow out the other day...then he didn't wash the shirt out..just put it in the hamper....MEN
I have a case of 3's waiting to be used so maybe i will start using them at night, but I'm not sure if it will make a whole lot of difference since i was using the size 2-3 anyways (which are bigger then the size 2) I'll get him weighed today and talk to the public health nurse
I use Huggies and Pampers - and Huggies actually dont leak on Noah at all - He is in a size 2 and ready to go to a 3 I think.....maybe try one size up during the night! It might help hold a little more in......
Oh yes.... I think we all at least once have experience the baby nightmares....Noah woke up just screaming/Crying and its a hurt or scared scream like somthing is really really wrong.... Scary and breaks my heart..... I think when they are sooo upset and crying that hard its normal for them to keep there eyes closed......
Leighton has nightmares probably once or twice a week. They only last a few minutes though... nothing for hours on end. Eyes stay shut, but she is crying and she makes this squeeling sound when she initally starts crying. We just put our hands on her tummy, and that usually soothes her. She has never woken herself up from them.
As for the diaper issue... I believe it is Pampers who makes a diaper specifically for night. We have used Huggies & Costco Brand (which are actually Huggies... just packaged under a different label) has soon as she moved into a size 2 and have never had issues either. So, I don't know exactly what you are talking about since she hasn't ever leaked or had a "blow out" either! hahaha... You could always try the night time diapers. I know they are much more expensive than the "day time" diapers though.
What about using those plastic bloomers? I don't even know if they make them anymore, I just remember my mom using them with my brother & sister at night. You could see if BBRU, Target, or Walmart carries them. That would prevent him from soaking through his PJs and bedding.
We use Huggies 3s for Brock. I think with boys it's all about the placement of the penis. In the morning when I change his diaper it is so yellow right in the front and just soaked right there. You can try to put it down before you close the diaper. He hasn't leaked in a long time though.
As far as nightmares, I don't think he has had them. He hasn't woken up bawling in the middle of the night or anything. He has been waking up in the middle of the night and whimpering and talking and then falls back to sleep on his own.
He does have a little cold which *****. It's so sad! His nose is all runny, he has a cough, and when he sneezes...watch out!!! He has his 6-month check up tomorrow.
