Hi - I just posted this in the 21-34 forum - but thought I'd ask you guys as well --
I had a 5 week (plus a few days) ultrasound today - looks good - with a yolk and a sac. Also had hCG retested came out at 13,349 -- BUT my progesterone seemed to drop from last week. I am also taking 200mg of Progesterone suppositories at night -- last week on Monday my Progesterone level was 15.8, on Wednesday it went up to 19.4 and today it is 13.1.
My nurse said levels look "great" -- but I am concerned the progesterone is dropping. Is this normalNormal saline flush? No? Should I request to increase my dose? Or can their be risks?
I also emailed my nruse back with these questions -- but in case she doesnt get back today -- your input would be apprecaited!
I responded to your post on the other forum, but I don't think that you have anything to worry about. See what your nurse emails back to you and let us know :)
Thanks -- she said this "Your progesterone level fluctuates throughout the day so if we checked it an hour later it could be back to 19. We want is 10 and greater so the level was fine. Dr. Kaplan doesn't recommend increasing your dose. You can recheck your p4 level next week if you'd like to make yourself feel better but I definitely don't think the hcg is necessary."
I was told by RE nurse that your progesterone is always a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys higher than what is indicated with your bloodwork when you use progesterone suppostitories because the progesterone goes straight to where its needed and not always into your blood supply. If I remember right, I was taking 25mg in am and pmPremenstrual syndrome Relieving pms at the time and the nurse told me its actually about 10 higher. She also told me progesterone is usually higher in the morning and within three hours of useing the suppositories.
from what i heard is that your prog levels fluctiautes during the day. it can go up and down in one day. as long as it does not alarm the doctor then i would not worry. keep taking your meds though.
