anyone got induced?

HOw do they decide when to induce a pregnant woman?  Is it painfull? how do they do it? Its my due date today and still no continous contractions to get me excited. LOL

How is everyone doing?

I am getting induced tomorrow morning- a full week before my due date. They decided to induce me because my first labor was only 45 minutes long, and they want to have much more control over it. I think, though, a regular doc will normally induce a week after you miss your due date.
From what I understand it is painful, but labor is always painful. I will let you know afterwards....;)

usually they wait until you are at least 1 week, if not 2 weeks overdue to induce

I asked to be induced...and it doesn't really hurt at all. The most painful part was the cervix checks and then when they actually broke my water...that hurt. I had a few contractions that hurt really bad but then I got my epidural. Good luck!

I was induced on my due date because I had SUA (single umbilical artery).  I ended up with an epidural because unfortunately for me the contractions came back to back with only 10 to 20 seconds of release in between.  It was almost too much to bare.  Being induced is so incredibly common, your doctor will decide whether it's worth it, most doctors will avoid doing it unless there is something wrong with the baby or you're two weeks overdue.  Your placenta doesn't work as well when your overdue and so many doctors will induce to keep baby safe.

I was induced on Monday- a week before my due date. We induced because I have incredibly fast labors and we wanted more control over it.
I didn't think that it hurt worse than regular labor. My water broke on its own, and I didn't find that painful. However, I have a really high pain threshold so for others is may seem worse. I did have this baby naturally as well, but I am sure if you have an epidural it won't hurt as badly.
