That is very good advise thanks for the heads up!
I studied massage therapy a few years back so for those of you who use dad as you're masseuse please ensure that the strokes are light, he does NOT put ANY pressure on your ankles or wrist, very light or avoid completely. Heavy pressure can result in preterm labour and/or Braxton Hicks. Also if you go professional ensure the therapist is certified and if possible is trained in prenatal massage with a massage table with a stomach hole!!
Yeah i go to the doctor on monday and i am going to mention it to her along with pelvic pain i have been having. My appt on monday is for my sugar test.
My back pain has gotten so bad that i am actually in physical therapy for it twice a week. Its most likely your SI Joint. Its common in pregnancy to have it. The therapy is really helping me. There were 2 occasions where I could barely walk from how bad it was but I havent been even close to that since therapy started. If it continues ask your Dr about it cause the PT is the best thing in the world for me. He said there is no reason to be miserable the last 3 months of pregnancy if you can find relief somewhere. Good luck =)
I always have back pain and lately at night it has gotten worse and it makes it hard to walk. I usually do the heating pad and warm bath bath and my body pillow is a miracle worker. Good Luck!!
I had my husband rub my back last night it helped but i know he isn't as good as a professional. Now its my lower back. This weekend i am going to look for a pillow i can use for my chair at work. Thanks for the responses ladies! This is my first pregnancy so i'm new to all this.
Just this week I've started having a lot a back pain as well. I've found the a warm bath or a heat pad set on low can be really helpful. I'm also thinking a massage is in my near future.
i read somewhere that during the third trimester especially, we are prone to slouching and bad posture. the weight of everything just naturally draws us inwards. i catch myself sitting in awkward positions, and try to correct it. in the car is the worst for me! i think acting on bad posture at the onset, prenatal massage, and warm baths are ways to help make it better. good luck, hope you feel better soon!
