Couple of questions

First question: is anybody else experiencing unwanted hair growth? I've always had a fair bit of body hair but now I feel as though there's more hair on my tummy and the small of my back. I thought the baby was supposed to have lanugo not me! >_<

Second question: my first pap smear after we found out I was pregnant came back abnormal. The doc said it was very low grade pre-cancer cells and may or may not be something to worry about just yet. I was talking to a friend and she said because of that I might have to get a c- section. I know this is something I need to ask my doc but my appointment isn't until the 3rd. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

I have a cousin whose fiancé is a neo-natal nurse and I asked her about it. She said more than likely I'll be able to give birth vaginally but I'll probably have a couple more tests done later on just to make sure it's safe for the baby. I'm definitely going to bring it up with the doc at the next appointment.

Thanks for all input! ^_^

I get the same hair problem... it grows faster everywhere :) I even have to pluck my eyebrows more often now... I don't mind that very much as long as everything is fine.

My doc didn't even give am a pap smear...although I asked if I had to do one. She said there's no need to. I do know I have HPV and we'll make some tests right before the delivery to see if the virus is active. In case it is, I will either be prescribed some pills to put it back to sleep or I will have to undergo a C-section coz I know it's very dangerous for newborn babies if they catch it. I don't think you should worry right now. If you don't have a "virus" that's waking up when baby is due then you can have a normal delivery. Some abnormal cells don't say anything like that. I would go for further testing and I would also redo the pap smear...

i can answer number 1. :)

i noticed the peach fuzz on my tummy increasing several weeks ago. it's funny because it seems to stick straight out, and go all different directions. lol. it hasn't been too bothersome to me, but definitely noticeable. i also started getting the linea negra (sp.?) a couple of weeks ago. it is very faint, but there. i thought it was from a pair of maternity leggings the first time i saw it, but sure enough, the line down the tummy. the good news about the unwanted hair, as you have probably heard, is that it does go away after birth.

i hope all goes well with your second concern.. i am sure it will be fine. i think for an abnormal pap smear they have some great solutions to solve whatever is causing it, and maybe they have specific treatments for a woman who is pregnant. whatever happens, it will be worked out and your body and your baby will be fine. :) please keep us posted <3

I also am beginning to notice that I'm getting a fuzzy tummy...I had this with my daughter as well and it's annoying, but I just spend a little extra time shaving when it gets out of control.

As for the pre-cancerous cells I've had this issue before, but never while pregnant.  The cells they found in mine were caused my a virus.  I had to get biopsies done and then a laser was used to remove all of the problem cells.  I would assume this can't be taken care of until after you deliver, but I didn't know this would cause you to have to have a C-section.  I guess if they feel they are caused by a virus and can be passed to the baby then it makes sense you would need a C-section, but I don't really have any research to back it up.  If you're concerned and don't want to wait until your appointment I would just call and see if you can talk to a nurse about it.

Good luck and I hope everything turns out okay!
