Update: I just finished my test. It really wasnt that bad. I had to fast from midnight on so I went in as early as I could this morning to get it done with. My drink wasnt that hard to swallow because I had it nice and cold and I brought a straw hehe. I was surprised that my tummy actually didnt feel too yucky during the process. Afterwards I did quickly eat something though so I would feel fine and I do- it really wasnt so bad =)

I go next week for an appointment, but won't do my test until my December appt, so I'll be about 26 1/2 weeks when i do it.  With my last pregnancy I failed the first test and had to do the 3 hour, but it all turned out okay.  The drink is kind of gross, but not as bad as everyone made me think it was going to be.  For those that have to fast before their test (mine is 2 hours beforehand) I would suggest keeping some crackers handy for after the test is over because last time all the sugar on an empty stomach made me a little woozy.  I hope everyone's tests go well and we get good news from all!

I take mine tomorrow- I will be just shy of 23 weeks 5 days. I also have to drink the orange drink but I have to do it at the lab. I guess they say any movements you do can affect it as your metabolism raises and lowers. They sent me home with mine at my last appointment so I could put it in the fridge. I had to drink the same stuff with my last pregnancies and it pretty much tasted like flat orange soda. I am soooo not looking forward to it but glad it will be over with soon. I am interested on mine and everyone else results. Please keep posted =)

my doctor sent me home with mine at my last appt. and it is in the fridge.. i was instructed to eat a normal breakfast, something like oatmeal or a healthy cereal that has minimal or no sugar in it that morning, but no juice, fruit, or anything that could throw the test off-balance. i have to drink it an hour before my appointment (yay! no waiting around at their office).. i'll be in traffic for half an hour anyway, but at least i can throw on some music or something :)

i think have been eating more sugary stuff lately. loading up on fruit especially, but that has been a constant throughout my pregnancy. i hope i am not overdoing it. i am the typical health-conscious type, but definitely have my moments.. like when i made a pumpkin cake a couple of days ago.. haha. i really hope to get a good result when i go in on the 6th! right after thanksgiving and my famous apple pie.. yikes. i am really going to watch it.. how much sugar intake is too much? i don't have a clue..

when i had mine with my daughter, i didnt have to fast. i basically drank some really syrupy orange pop drink.. it wasnt horrible, if u like sugar. then had to sit still for 1 hour.. which is very boring, especially after they sugar buzz you.. ha ha. then they took blood and i was on my merry way,

There are different requirements for each doctor. I do not have to fast before I take the test, but must not eat anything after I drink the orange stuff. I think it's different for everyone. I will be 24.5 weeks when I take mine on Monday the 22nd. For those of you who took it already it's not that bad is it? My doc said keep it in the fridge because it tastes better cold :)

Nope you can't eat before the test. My doctor told me to fast after 12 the night before until the test is finished :(

i will have mine next week . i didn't know u get to chose flavors , that sounds cool. do u guys know by any chance if is ok to eat before or not and if yes whats the best think to eat ? good luck to mmerich and lisa 0114 hope all good with the test and dpaw hope its just i little mess up and that all is fine .

I took mine last Monday but it was a fasting and non fasting blood test. Results turned out fine but later that week I took the regular urine test and fingertip blood test and my glucose was high, don't know what is going on but remaining positive. Dr. visit tomorrow will get some clarification hopefully.

I take mine at my next visit wich is 12/10. I didn't have a choice of spritish or not. I am kinda scared of this test because thou i have been safe so far diabetes runs in my family. Good Luck and God BLess!!!
