We were told to give our dd(s) a small amount of baby tylenol just before the shot and then again around bedtime.  Our second dd did ok.  Our first dd got ill from it and scared us to death.  So, bet ya don't know that they make tylenol that is a suppository!  It works like a charm when vomit and fever occur at the same time.

first time is such a joy and an experience!!!!!

We were in the hospital this week and I wasn't allowed to feed ds in case of surgery. They gave me a little sealed container of sugar water to dip his pacifier in to tide him over. I don't think they mean in a bottle do they? We had our (3 of 6) shots on Monday. I couldn't do alllll at once.

OH, now I remember.  We did the sugar water .... yes on a pacifier or your finger ... when we had to take dd#2 to the cardiologist.  She wasn't allowed to eat, either until the test was complete, so we had to get her content with sugar water.  Doesn't really work if they are REALLY hungry.

I know what you mean about the shots.  Man, that's a lot of shots to deal with.  DD#2 just got a shot of antibiotic which is THICK.  But, it is much better than getting her to orally take it and then worry whether or not it'll come back on us, literally.
