Cervidil

I just went to my doctors appointment and my baby's head is not engaged yet and i'm 39 wks, if I don't give birth until 21st then doctor will use cervidil that night and he will induce me the next day. Is there anybody experience this? Is it painful?

I went to store yesterday and this am around 1:30 I had backpain and mild cramping I thought I'm going into labor because today is my due date but unfortunately the contraction didn't progress at all. I was wondering why I get this backpain and cramps from my abdomen, is somebody experience this?

I want to share with u guys my experience using cervidil.  I gave birth past 2 days my due date. I scheduled to go to the hospital @4:30pm and they put the cervidil around 6:45pm. They told me that the medicine stays for 12hrs and to be taken out  6:30am the next day and induce me @7:30 am that same day. Around 7:30pm I can feel mild cramps and me and my nurse decided to have sleeping pill@10pm to relax me. At 9:30pm contraction is getting intense and my nurse check and I'm 4cm dilated, she was surprise. She take off the medicine. But contraction is getting closer to 1-2 mins and intense I ask for intrathecal and I had it @11pm at the same time my bag of water broke, my nurse check me and I'm 9cm dilated. Around 12am I can feel the contaction on my tummy and I ask why because I supposed to be numb and she check it and  she said I'm ready. At 1 am I start pushing and pushing and @1:36am my baby girl came out healthy and normal. It was a good experience because I don't need to be induce that day although the pain is so intense but I'm still blessed!!!!

I had a similiar experience with cervidil. I was 39 weeks, and during an NST, my daughters heart rate dropped so they decided to induce me. I was admited around 5 PM and was given the cervidil around 6/630ish ( it was 2 years ago) I was fine until about 1030 then the contractions and pain came out of no where. Luckily I was able to get the epidural, and my daughter was born healthy at 623 am the next morning.
