Early Quantitive HCG test after ovulating?

by 120205B, May 23, 2007 12:00AM
Has anyone had a quantitive HCG test soon after ovulating and how soon?  I work in a lab so I can test my blood any time but don't want to do it too soon and get a neg.  Any help would be great.

I had a blood test done recently, however they didn't tell me whether it was just a preg test or a quant.  They tested me at 10DPO and it was neg.  I was due for AF today (15DPO)...so far she's a no show.  GOOD LUCK!

If they drew your blood it may have been a quantitive test which measures the exact amount of HCG, that takes about an hour to find out the results or they could have spun the blood and used they plasma to do a quick test that would take 5-10 minutes and is only a yes or no test.

Must have been a quant. then.  They ran it stat and said I would have results in one hour.  I know you can do a quant. earlier than urine...on pregnancy.org they say that a blood test might show positive as early as 9-10 DPO.  ????

It's possible for a quantative to show the day after implant. 85% of implants are at 8dpo. The placenta begins producing Hcg immediately. It can take longer to build in some women. I'm glad I don't work in a lab, lol. I'd have tested 8dpo, 9dpo,10dpo......I'd be a pin cushion!

Thanks for the statistics.  I have been testing my blood every week to watch the HCG level drop after m/c and now this.  When will it end!!!

Well, Torra above posted a bfp later. So, if that's what you're hoping for there's still lots of hope :). I'm sorry for your mc, I went thru it in Jan at 12wks. It took a little over 2 wks for Hcg to get back to normal. Still trying since.
