? about Delivery due to high blood pressure

My specialist told me today that he will deliver when my BP gets to 160/110. Do any of you have any experience with delivering once your BP got to a certain point??? Right now it is running about 155 over 94, but they started me on a new medication to try and lower it.

I was induced at 38 weeks because of high blood pressure, but mine was more 150/94.  My doctor told me that he could not induce me before 38 weeks due to high blood pressure unless there was protien in my urine.  I think that means you have preclampsia.  I did not have any protein in my urine.  Has your doctor checked you for that?  How far along are you?

Are you in a high risk category?  Have you had preeclampsia or PIH or toxemia before?  How far along are you?

Depends how far along you are, and if the pressure is consistently elevated...not just an occasional reading.

Since she's in the hospital and gets kinda cruddy internet...I'll answer your questions so maybe someone can answer hers! lol

She is 30 weeks, 2 days. Is high risk for LOTS of things. Her blood pressure has been consistantly elevated and keeps going up. She has been on bedrest for a couple weeks now (the last week spent in the hospital). She has gone into PTL twice now and is dialated to a minimum of 3cm and is 90% effaced. Last she knew there was no protien in her urine (and she's been checked consistantly for it).

Sooo I think that's all......I'm sure she'd appreciate any answers and/or advice. She's a little stressed out right now because she is stuck in the hospital til delivery! And her stressing out stresses me out.....I guess that's what friends are for! :) lol

They started me on Labetalol and I am also taking procardia. After 11 hours of taking the new meds, there has been no change in my BP. We are currently doing a 24 hour urine test, and we will be done with that at 6am so the results should be back in the morning. I hope it starts going down through, becasue if not, the meds are not working....!!!!
