10 week ultrasound showed 6 week sac only

A week ago I had a 10 week ultrasound and found that the sac only measured to be 6 weeks.  The ultrasound tech also said she couldn't find any fetal pole.  My doctor said to wait a couple weeks and either I will miscarry the empty sac by then or I should come in for another ultrasound.  I'm going crazy having to wait to see the out come!  I only have one more week to wait until my next ultrasound and so far I haven't had any symptoms of miscarriage so I'm hoping that is a good sign.  Has anyone else had anything happen like this?  I still can't believe the sac measured 4 weeks behind what we thought I was!

was a yolk sac detected? i know if a yolk sac is seen that is a positive sign, i don't know what to say except try and stay positive and make sure you have the next scan to be 100% sure, i lost my first 3 babies and on my 4th pregnancy i had an early scan at what i thought was 6+ weeks for me. after the scan was done i was taken to a side room by a very uncaring registrar, firstly asked why i was there, she hadn't bothered to read my previous history, then told the sac was measuring 1mm! yes 1mm bigger than they expected for my gestation and that i most likely had a blighted ovum/missed miscarriage again, she then went on to say, you can wait another week for a re-scan or we can get it over with today (a d&c) to say i was gob smacked was an understatement, he bedside manner was atrocious. i declined the d&c and waited an agonizing week for a re-scan, which revealed i was a week plus behind what i thought! and showed a perfectly healthy little baby with a heartbeat, she is almost 5 years old now and perfect! doctors don't always get it right! my thoughts are with you

Yes, when I found out I was pregnant  they thought that I was 7 weeks but I was 5 and they saw the sac and no baby.  I was in hell waiting for the results.  I had to wait two weeks and they finally saw the baby.

i went for an emergency scan this morning.. i was expecting to see a healthy little baby moving even though ive had slight bleeding and a few pains... they detected no baby and no heartbeat but a embryo that measured 3.2 mm... ( not looking good ) bearing in mind i know my dates!! so they did a internal scan and they say it has measured roughly a six week pregnancy... fingers crossed for me although ive cried my heart out and thinking of the worst! but apparently ive just got to waity and see what happens till the 7th of may when my next scan is! i wish you all the best of luck in the world and would love to hear your news...
