10 wks bad cold..What to take?

Hi,Well I'm 10 wks with a bad cold,congestion & a bit of a cough.I cannot sleep at night & sneeze non stop.What can I take? I can't call dr. since he's on vacation & left  message on nurses #...yesturday.I've been taking tylenal for my head aches,but what can I take for cold?I have 2 bottles of unopend Childrens robittussum(kids were sick last wk)& have been so tempted to take!Can I take this? Is there a risk for baby? What can go wrong?Any advice would be great =)Thanks in advance...Adriana

I'm pretty sure that's a no-no. I don't have my list of ok meds the dr gave me here at work. The only ones I remember were rolaids and tylenol. I know there were more on the list. Did you look it up online to see contradicitons? Is there alcohol in it? Sorry not much help. Try Web MD, too.

I got my safe meds list from Doctor last week.  

For Cough:
Plain Robitussin
Halls Cough Drops

For Runny Nose and Cold:
Benadryl
Chlor-Trimeton
Sinutab
Suadafed
Claritin
Claritin-D
Tylenol Cold & Sinus

For Sore Throat:
Sucrets
Cholraseptic Throat Spray

For Minor Aches & Pains:
Tylenol
Extra Strength Tylenol

Hope that helps and that you get feeling better soon.  Don't forget to drink lots of water so you stay hydrated.  I also recommend this Stuff called Emer-gen-c.  You mix the packet with water and drink it.  It has 1000 MG of Vit C and Vit B for energy and other vitamins in it.  It has kept me from getting colds and the Doc said it was good.  As soon as I feel a cold starting to come on, I start taking it.  Good for future advice, but it may help shorten the one you have now.  You can buy it at Wal-Mart in a box of 30 some packs.  It cost about $9.

I am sick with a cold too! It is making me miserable. I had to get out of bed for a while because my back is strating to ache. I just called my Dr. this morning for a list of meds ok to take during pregnancy. I agree with LoveFamily. Same list!

also for your sinus' you can use  Ocean Premium Nasal Spray--it will just help keep your passages clear--so you can breathe a little better.

fyi- dh is a pharmacist. do not take benedryl or claritin in any trimester! he said Chlor-Trimeton past first trimester. safest to take is sudafed, robatussen, robatussen dm and tylenol.

I think the only thing you can take is tylonel.  Anything else would have to come from your doctor.

My doctor said NO tylenol and only Sudafed with my last Pregancy. Who knows, I think nothing is better-but I know how miserable you are. Try sleeping with hundifier with vicks in it-that helps alot.

My doctor recommended Tylenol Cold and Flu.  Hope you feel better soon! :)
