1st period after miscarige

I had a micarrige at 13 weeks but the baby had died at 5/6weeks. had a misscarrige naturally. today is tues, it will be 4 weeks on fri that i had the miscaridge. i stopped bleeding about a week ago, with a bit of discharge, and then a few days ago i got cramps and started to bleed again. the doctor said that it could be my period, but can that happen as i only stopped bleeding for my miscarrige i thik just over a week ago, (but that was only spotting) it's just that i would like to get pregnant again, so if this is a period then i guess i could start trying again in maybe a  weeks time, i just thought i wouldn't get my period for a month after the bleed from the micarrige had stopped.

I had miscarriage in august i was 12 weeks but baby died at 6 i had a natural miscarriage and 13 weeks later im still bleeding there hasent been a day where iv stopped its just been constant..im wanting to try for another child but worry this could fail again because of the bleeding.my doctor just says it could be my period iv never known a period go on for 13 weeksis this possible and is there anything that can stop it as its so draining
