by fsantiago, Jul 31, 2008 09:18AM
Hey ladies, Quick question...My 2 week old is always spitting up...Dr says its ok as long as she is not progectile vomitting...Her weight is great...It seems like after every feeding(formula) she is spitting up and if it is not right away it could be like 2 hours later and she is spitting up...Like I said the dr said its normal but it freaks me out...Any suggestions?

They do that.  Remember at 2 weeks the baby's digestive system is still very immature.  It will take a while for the baby to adjust.  Just make sure to burp your baby more.  Also, don't lay her flat after eating.  Try and put her on a slight incline.  That might help her.  Talk to your doctor, perhaps you can put her on a more gentle formula to reduce gas and spitting up.  Other than that, as long as it's not projectile there isn't much to do.  My son is 8 months and still spits up on his formula.

We all have those fears.  She will be fine, it's all very new to her and to you...lol.  Hang in there, it does get easier and more routine.  Although, being a mommy you will worry about everything and anything.  It's so normal.
