21 yrs old,14 weeks pregnant,possible breast cancer.any advice?

Hi I am 21 years old with no history of breast cancer in my family. I am 14 weeks and 3 days pregnant.Everything is fine with the baby.About one month ago I found a lump in my right breast, its about one inch in diameter and its very mobile. My ob-gyn sent me for an ultrasound and the lump was found to be a solid lump. I went to a breast specialist two days ago and I am schelduled for a needle biopsy and then i assume I wait for the results, to see if its cancer. I wanted to know if anyone else has been thru anything similar, and is in their twenties. If so was it related to your pregnancy? I am so young and want to enjoy my pregnancy but im so scared that I may have breast cancer, and help or advice would be greatly appreicated. Thanks so much

When I was pregnant 17 years ago, I also had a lump in my left breast.  It was found before I was pregnant, and I was told to have it seen again in 3 months, well I was pregnant in 3 months.  They tried to aspirate it and got nothing, which concerned my doctor.  They couldn't do any other x-rays due to the pregnancy, so it was decided to go ahead and take it out.  I went through the surgery wide awake and bugging the surgeon the entire time asking him if it would interfere with breastfeeding, hehe.  He was so tired of me by the time it was over.  My lump was benign, and the surgery, and recovery was excellent (I think being under local instead of general helped).  I don't even remember having any pain.  My pregnancy was textbook(except for going into labor at 37 weeks), and my son was healthy and breastfed for 7 months.  I don't think you have anything to worry about, lumps are common, and usually are benign in women your age.  Try not to worry, I believe you will be just fine and so will your baby. :)

I had many lumps in my 20's and all were benign.  I had 2 removed 2 yrs. ago as a precaution.  They were big and I just wanted them OUT!  I've had the ultrasounds and needle biopsies and aspirations and all of that and it really wasn't a big deal.  I also have "leakage" out of one nipple because of the lumps being aspirated.  I've never been preg. so I can't give advice there but I don't think you have to worry yourself over whether or not you have cancer, just enjoy your pregnancy!  One thing I was always told by my gyno., if they are mobile (which you said yours was), that is a GOOD sign!  Good luck!

I had 2 lumps at 19 had one removed the other went away. They were benign. It's scary being so young and dealing with a potential breast cancer scare.  Mine were solid too.  The doc could not drain anything out with the needle biopsy.  Did all the mamograms and my parents, doctor and I decided to have it removed!  Never had a problem after.  I'm sure you will be fine:)  Good luck and keep us updated.
