29 weeks and question about blood and leukocytes in the routine urine test at the doctor

Hello everyone. I just got back from my 29 week visit, and they told me that my last urine culture was negative! So, that was good, but the dipsick showed that i had moderate leukocytes and blood!!! i dont understand it! Last time i was there, it was trace and the culture came back negative. They said it could be normal for a pregnant woman to have a little blood in the urine because of the baby. They also said if it was kidney stones, that i would know. i dont really have any smptoms of anythig, so i am hoping this is something that will clear up after i have had the baby. Has anyone ever expeienced this????

The most common cause is a less than clean catch specimen.  CC urines are very hard for a pregnant woman to do correctly and unassisted.  Often, if the urine shows up "dirty" with blood/leuks/protein, a catheterized urine sample will be obtained that is perfectly clean and free of all the above.

If your doctor isn't worried, and your culture is neg, you don't need to be at all concerned about it unless you develop pain/fever.

I have a kidney infection
and at 25 weeks last week mine was full of blood leukocytes too

they just switched my antibiotics

Thanks, that does make sense. I always get over paranoid during my pregnancy!!!
