2nd partial molar pregnancy....can i have a baby?

2nd partial molar pregnancy....can i have a baby?

i posted asking for advice on whether to have a dnc or miscarry naturally as our baby's heart stoppd at 8wks. (This was my second pregnancy, the first 1yr ago was a partial molar no further heartbeat after 12wks, with no further apparent complications). I opted for the dnc this time to finalise it as my thoughts were driving me crazy. Also the doc wanted to do pathology considering last years partial molar even though he thought thi was a regular "missed miscarriage". I had the dnc last tuesday and had my one week follow up with doc today. The pathology report was given to me today and it finds that this was again a partial molar pregnancy.
Sitting here, i am feeling very bewildered at a bit shocked at this...my doc seems concerned and has asked me to go back in a week as scan reveals something still in the uterus. And obviously hcg tests to be done for follow up. He has also asked both me and partner to do "Karyotpic" test. I understand this is genetic testing?? I live in Mexico (originally from UK) and although i speak spanish, this vocab is out of my league!
would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced 2 consecutive partial molar pregnancies and chances of ever having a baby.
Thanks, Clarie xx

I have never had a molar pregnancy of any kind (though I have had 4 m/c) and just want to say how sorry I am about your loss.  The genetic testing you are talking about is Keryotyping, I have had this done due to how many m/c I have had and the results were normal.  I just want to wish you the best of luck in the future.

Oh clarie, I am so sorry. Do you know for sure than your hcg went all the way back to 0 before you got pregnant again? I know you waited quite awhile but did you get it checked till it went all the way down?

I know one person who had 2 in a row but it was because she got pregnant a few months later before the hcg went all the way down. There was probably some tissue left from the first time on her.

I have heard that with a partial is something with the sperm or 2 sperm fertilizing the egg at the same time and with a complete molar it is an empty egg or an abnormality with the egg.

I am sure you will still be able to have children. I know this has got to be very hard to deal with. I was terrified that I would have a second one after mine.

I too have never had a molar pregnancy (although lab reports from my d&e last week are still not in)..I just experienced my 3rd m/c in 7 mos so I understand your heartbreak and loss.

There is nothing more cruel than for a mother to lose her child.  A child so loved from the moment of conception.

I believe you should have this genetic testing done.  Although from what I hear most of the time they do not find anything.

Molar pregnancies from my understanding is just bad luck.  Something goes seriously wrong when it's partial and the two sperm fail to split the egg for twins.

Full molar pregnancies are more concerning as it's my understanding that it's an empty egg.

Was this 2nd one partial?

I'm praying for you.

I don't know about partial molars......other than they are very very rare, and is possible that it will not repeat....specially after 2!!!
I do speak spanish, me and Nanis are from Mexico. If you need any translations, don't hesitate to let us know ;)
What part of Mexico are you at?

Thanks all for your support...helps so much during this time...both of my prgnancies were partial molar...and yes, i did wait until the hcg went to normal...after the first one in july last year, the hcg went to zero after 3 months and continued be to 0 for the following 10 months. we were told after 1 year we could now try again...we got pregnant immediately and this is the 2nd partial molar...i am just reading so much stuff about cancer, need to have checks on lungs, kidney, liver for something (had 1st test for hcg today and get results later, had tests for kidney and liver, although not exactly sure what they are testing for...)
