33 weeks and gaining

33 weeks and gaining

so, just like everyone else i am a little stressed about the weight i have put on. i am 33 weeks and i have put on 25lbs already. It feels like i am heavier everyday. I dont pig out on junk food. i eat very healthy, except for the occasional craving for a cheeseburger. i am afraid that i will be up to 40 lbs before this is over. i am 5'10.5 and weighed close to 150 before i  got pregnant. i have always been thin. what do you all think? do i have anything to worry about?

I got up to 40 lbs at the end.  I had my ds in Dec, so I had to weather through T-giving.  All the salt made me swell so much, I gained 13lbs in 2 1/2 weeks..YIKES!  But it has pretty much all come off.  I havent weighed myself but I am back in my pre-preggo clothes. I think I may have 5 lbs to go.  I lost 20lbs within 1 week post birth.  So I wouldnt worry, you are right on track.  You are lucky you are taller because weight wont show as much as my 5'5 body!

My friend is about 5'6 and pre-pregnancy, she weights about 135 pounds so she is thin as well. With her first 2 pregnancies, she gained 90 pounds and then 65 pounds. She is pregnant again and was VERY sick the first about 20 weeks so hasn't gained as much this time but the first two times, she got the weight off.  Everyone is different. They were even sending her to a dietition because she had gained so much weight and she always gets back to her 135.  Most of my friends who are pregnant have gained at least 30-50 and it always comes off. I know you feel crummy.  I did to with my second pregnancy as I had polyhydramneos (excess amniotic fluid) and was HUGE.  I only gained 30 pounds total but with the excess water, my belly was enormous.   Just enjoy your pregnancy and if you are eating healthy, that's all you can do!  Good luck!

I always get so frustrated when I get to the end like you do

I can't figure out how it just piles on those last few weeks
I try to excercise and just live with it - but its hard

There's not too much you can do, just eat healthy when you can and don't overdo it.  I got really sick with my boys and lost over 15 lbs. each time to start, then gained 23 lbs. with my first and 18 lbs. with my second.  I was thin before and was 8 lbs. over my prepregnancy weight the first time and 3 the second time.  I lost it within the first week, and then some.  My problem was not after birth, it was after colic, and RSV, etc.  I put on weight the first year with my boys.  It will come off, just stay active, hydrated, and you will be fine.  Good luck, and really, 25 lbs. is not bad.

Well, here is a trick. Don't look at the scale when you go to the doctor's. My doctor told me I was gaining too much weight in the begining and then the weight slowed down. Im now 35 weeks and ya kow what, I don't care right now. I do my prenatal pilates, eat as healthy as I can but like you, I have the occasional craving for that burger too. My biggest problem is the salt addiction. I am just really swollen. The rest of my body doesn't seem too different then before i got pregnant. But my belly is sooooooo big, lol. And on a girl who is 5ft tall, it looks a little funny. Just enjoy these last few weeks and try not to weigh yourself. The weight will come off in due time. Just work out at a healthy pace and only when you have the energy. Treat yourself to some r&r and have a great rest of your pregnancy!!!

Eat healthy, cut the junk food if you are eating any, really watch your portion sizes, and exercise if your doctor allows.  That's all you can do.
