36 weeks - how much weight have you gained?

by neparker, May 15, 2007 12:00AM
So, at my dr. apt today, I had gained 4 lbs in the last two weeks, are you kidding me?  I have 4 weeks left.  I've gained almost 40 lbs so far this pregnancy.  How much weight have you all gained, if you dare to share.

Good thing is though, my dr has never once commented on my weight gain, so I'm assuming all is good on how much I have gained.  He did mention that if I was to go into labor now, he would let it go, he wouldn't stop it.

I start getting checked next week, I'm very anxious, and hope to have this baby soon, but not too soon, June is all good for me.

I am due June 14, I have put on 12 lbs, but I was over weight to begin with, I weigh 210 now (gasp) with my first I gained 50, and I only lost 25 of it so I had left over weight from the first.  Hey good luck, your due 2 days before me right?

Well, so far this pregnancy I haven't gained any weight.  I'm 20 weeks.  But with my dd pregnancy I gained 37 pounds total and lost it all but 10 pounds within a month, but I was at a healthy weight then, before I got pg I was under weight and looked sick at 123 pounds.

I'm 36 1/2 wks and I've gained 18 lbs...but it's ALL happened in the 3rd trimester!  I gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks and 5 lbs in 2 weeks!  Yeah...I've clearlyy been playing catch-up...and it's not too fun!  :(

I am sitting at 35 weeks and seem to have gained 4 pounds just last weekend (gasp--panicking slightly!). For about the last month and a half my weight has stayed the same or dropped a little, so I guess I made up for it over Mother's Day. So far, I have gained 25 lbs with this pregnancy and I am really hoping I will go back to staying the same or dropping.

It's so pathetic (me, that is)~ I understand the why to my weight gain and can rashionalize it that way, but seeing the total number on the scale makes me panic just a little each time. With any luck, the shock will cause me to contract and I will go into labor early. :)  June 19th seems like such a LONG way away! :)

Hi I'm due June 9th and I've gained 22lbs with this pregnancy.  With my dd I gained 50 and my ds I gained 40. I guess I finaly learned to eat healthier this time around.

By my 2nd trimester (last year) I was already at a 20lb weight gain.  By the time of my last week(41) I was 200 lbs and started off at 160.  I lost all 40 lbs by the 3rd month post partum minus about 5.  Once you have that baby and start breastfeeding the pounds fly off.  Really you will be amazed at how you can eat like a pig and still lose weight.  But watch out!  When I stopped breast feeding I had to remember to eat normal again, and I actually gained 10 lbs back.  Now that I am out of the house and back to work, I am losing again (also DD is moving around and I cannot keep up with her!)

I was wondering about this too as doctors seem to be more stringent now about weight gain telling me  I should only gain 10 to 15 lbs b/c I was overweight to start with. I lost 30 pounds before getting pregnant to have a better chance at healthy pregnancy but was still overweight at 179. I'm now in week 35 and so far gained 24 pounds. I think the first 10 lbs gained was due to progresterone supplements for first 10 weeks of this pregnancy b/c seemed to be mostly in my boobs! Has anyone else gained weight from progesterone? I thought it was too soon to gain pregnancy weight in first 2 months, then my weight was stable until around month 6 and more recently in month 8 gaining about a pound a week. So, I'm over the 10 to 15 lbs my OB advised me to gain and have another month to go. I was hoping not to exceed the 30 I initially lost but we'll see...I haven't been exercising for past 6 weeks b/c sciatica and I'm givimg myself a break at end of pregnancy despite my OB's warning about weight! I noticed my blood pressure going up lately so worry about effects of gaining weight and not exercising. Anyone else with that issue?

You guys don't have anything on me!!  I have gained 48pounds and only 34w1d and have weeks to go.  I have packed on the pounds despite my exercising!!  I do have a thyorid condition that causes weight gain and has gotten worse with this pregnancy so I think maybe that has something to do with it.  I eat at night too!! I'm sure that doesn't help.
