I have a question regarding my 4 1/2 month DD. i am extremely allergic to cats and I noticed the other day when we was at my mom's her eyes began to water, she was sneezing, and her nose is still plugged up. So I guess my question is has anyboday else had kids this young with allergies and what could you do to help? I am going to take her to the doctor tommorrow but I need help today. She won't hardly sleep and I think she is getting a sore throat. So what might help? If anybody has children with allergies at this young of an age, waht did your docotr do to help? None of my other kids have it just her. Any help would be greatly apprecciated?
I had concerns about my dd possibly having allergies as well. At the time she was less than 2 months old. My pediatrician said that as many as ONE OUT OF TWO pediatric patients suffer from allergies! That's half! Unfortunately she said that 1) it is a long battery of tests to determine allergies and 2) the drug companies don't make any medications that are safe enough for small babies...usually just toddlers.
I am curious if your doctor says the same things at your appointment. Maybe since you suspect a specific allergy (cats) there is something they can do? Good luck!
Hi my daughter is older 6 and allergic to cats and occasionally gets exercise induced asthma. She takes singular daily and has a pump just in case. Be sure she is not around cats at all. I think my daughter was overly exposed to cats at my moms too as an infant and now somehow she developed asthma. (very mild) By the way I took by daugter to an ENT. Good Luck.
