4 miscarriages in 1 year and low hcg levels

by karenhaggerty, Jul 03, 2003 12:00AM
What are the reasons for low hcg? Why would my levels be so low everytime and end in miscarriage after I've had 2 healthy boys, ages 4 and 9. Niether boys are my husbands. Please give me all possibilities for low hcg and miscarriage. Also should my husband and I start getting tested??

I'm by no means an expert in any of this, but I have had 5 miscarriages in the last 2 1/2 years. Each time, my HCG has been normal at the beginning of the pregnancy. I'm different from you in that I have never had any children. However, I have been told that a man's sperm can have an effect making pregnancy by a different man a different situation. I suggest you seek a specialist's help, if possible. There are SO many reasons that miscarriage can occur, from chromosome abnormalities to scar tissue to environmental, etc., etc. There are also a few good books on the market and lots of websites. Good luck. I know how difficult this can all be.
