4 year old daughter stomache pain

4 year old daughter stomache pain

My 4 year old daughter complains of intense stomach pain and vomiting and sometimes diareaha.  This has been going on for over a month.  She has had a stomach x-ray, which came back normal.  My family doctor told me to make sure she is getting more fiber.  She will go days with out any symptoms and then it will hit and she will complain for 2-3 days.  She has had a fever with it a couple of times but most of the time not.
What do you recommend?  other testing, what could it be?  Something she is eating, should I start tracking what she is eating? I hate that she is in so much pain.
Thanks...

Yes I would start watching what she eats....I found out the hard way that my daughter was lactose intolorant. If you read up on this your daughters symptons are similar. Now when my daughter turned 1yrs old she developed a Milk Allergy and these are two different things! The symptons with a milk allergy are rash, swollen eyes, runny nose and sometimes gray shadows around the eyes. But being lactose intolerant has to do with your digestive system and this would cause the upset stomach, stomach cramps, diarehea and gas...maybe she is lactose intolerant...Try cutting out foods that have lactose in them....It took me 3 months before I figured out what my daughter had no thanks to the doctors either!

I would recommend a stool culture to rule out any bacterial infections.

My daughter had exact same symptoms and finally found a ruptured appendix. She was ill for over three weeks and after two trips to the er and several design visits they finally took a ultra sound and still almost missed it. Kids show completely different symptoms so can be easily missed by even the best doctors. I would definitely have it ruled out at the least. Best of luck! It was a very scary and helpless time.
