wow. i would wait. at 5 weeks all we could see was the gest. sac. and some bleeding is normalNormal saline flush. your hcg also sounds good. do not do a dnc until you are further along and you've had other ultrasounds to confirm it's not viable. unless your dr is not telling you something, he is definitely jumping the gun. of course, it is possible that something is wrong, but it's too early to tell. you may want to consider another dr.
i would say wait. at least a week. at 5 weeks all we saw was a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys dot. you might be less than 5 weeks so i would wait. and then see who things go from there. good luck. keep your head up
on the 28th my levels were @4675 and on the 30th 4303 and @ the e.r 4511 so i got off the phone with my doctor and she said that's what she is basising it on and that there is no fetal pulse that we should see a lil peanut what should we do? im already switching obgyn
It's all in the numbers. If you're numbers aren't doubling every two days (HCG levels) then there is something wrong with the pregnancy. :( In a normal pregnancy, the numbers will rise, doubling every two days in the beginning. If the numbers go down at all, this is a sign of a miscarriage. If the numbers go up but don't double, then this is a sign of an etopic. 5 weeks can be too early to see a heartbeat, but if your numbers are going down then your doc is right. And you can absolutely see the baby and the heartbeat at 6 weeks. You don't have to wait until 8 weeks. 5 weeks is a bit early, but not 6. (I work for an OB/GYN so I know a few things, lol). Just hang in there and I will pray for the best! I am trying to conceive too so I know how hard it all can be!
Hi... I guess I'll fill you in with some info before my question. I'm 25 years old and have been pregnant 5 time in the last 3 years. My first pregnancy was a miscarry, then my second (3months later) was successful (healthy baby boy) I delivered 6 weeks early, my third (a year later) was an eptopic and my right tube was removed, my forth (18 months later) was also an eptopic but was in the stump of my right tube at which point the rest of that tube was removed and my last pregnancy (four months later) was a natural misscarry (08/09/07) no D&C done. For this last pregnancy I have had a lot of blood work done to check my HCG levels. My first HCG Level was done 07/27/07 and was 157 then on 07/29/07 it was 277 then on 07/31/07 it was 133. By the ninth I started to bleed...it wasn't as much as the doctor said it would be but definitely different then AF. My doctor said that he wanted more blood work done two weeks later to make sure my HCG levels were back to normal on 08/29/07 my level was 73.8... wasn't low enough so on 08/05/07 I had more blood drawn only to our surprise my level is going back up it was 98. So now for my question... Could this be the old pregnancy making this level rise or would it be a new one (my husband and I never use "protection") It just seems a little early to think that this could be a new baby.
My last pregnancy was 07/12/07 I wasn't very far along before I started to bleed...my doctor said that I would miscarry because my HCG level was going down but now they are going up again...he wants me to come in on Wednesday for more blood to be tested.
Thanks,
Amanda
