5 weeks and spotting

Hi, I'm 5wk+2 and for the last week have been spotting, with occasional cramps. This may be TMI but, most of the spotting is brown but also sometimes bright red, with tiny tiny clots. It also gets worse when I have  BM (sorry!!)

I had a TV scan last Monday which showed a gestational sac measuring (mGS - am guessing this means mean gestational sac??) 4mm, but no other structures were present ?? too early?? There was also free fluid in the uters ?? implantation bleed - but this would have been too late by my calculations.

Am being re-scanned on Thursday, which is still 5 days away and am really worried that I'm miscarrying or have a blighted ovum etc.

Has anyone else had similar experiences?? I would really love to hear from anyone.

I also had spotting around the same time, 5-6 weeks, and everything was fine. I haven't had any spotting since then. I am 21 weeks now. I hope everything works out fine at your next appointment.

Okay.  How are you?  Anything happen over the weekend or has the bleeding leveled off?

Well, kept bleeding red/brown stuff yesterday. Then today bright red, like the start of AF, thought this is it, i'm MC'ing. But has slowed down again this evening. So now not really sure what is going on!!
If it stays this way til Thursdays scan I'll still be a little hopeful.

So, I had a scan today as the bleeding was worse and cramping too like with AF.

Scan = yolk sac and embryonic heart pulsations.

Am kinda relieved, that there was no intrauterine bleeding, so must be coming form cervix or somewhere else!!

But heart rate was only 81bpm - which according to our friend Google, is too slow for 5+6days.

Still slowly going mad, is it gonna be like this for the next 35 weeks??!!

Anyway, so this evening they were awful, I went to bed with 2 hot water bottles, and 2 heat pads applied, plus 2 co-codamol.

Have just woken up, still in pain, and passed something. It does not resemble a baby at all, just a stringy fleshy coloured tissue with some blood mixed in - sorry TMI. (a few months back during my period I passed what I think was endometrium - fleshy coloured and really painful, this was similar).

Oh God, now I've just had a really upset tummy and passed something else. Still not looking like a baby, but looks like a hard grape sized blood clot.

I'm so sad and don't know what to do. DH is asleep, don't want to wake him as he has to work tomorrow.

Gonna call EPU as soon as it opens, I guess just to confirm what I already know....

I'm so sorry this is happening.  When I miscarried in February, I passed small clots for a few days with heavy bleeding.  About three days after the heavy bleeding stopped, I passed a huge mass, which I know was the baby.  I felt better knowing that I wouldn't need a D&C but seeing my baby like that hurt really bad.  I hope you are receiving the support you need and if you need the support of women online who have gone through the same experience, I know a really good group that you can join.  It is called Baby Dust Buddies - TTC and Pregnancy after a Loss.
