5.5 weeks pregnant, mild cramping and spotting

ok so on sunday, after taking 2 at home tests (both positive), i found out that i was about 5 weeks pregnant. i went to the doctors on tuesday and he sent me for blood and urine tests (i found it strange that he didnt ask me to do a urine pregnanct test there and then) i went and got the blood tests done straight away and went back on thursday afternoon for my results. i found out he tested me for everything under the sun, including HIV and hepatitis, the whole 9 yards. everything came back perfectly...then i find out he didnt actually test me for pregnancy. lucky i had a friend with me cause she made him send me for another blood test to actually confirm im pregnant and tell me approximately how far along i am. when i got home on thursday night my husband and i had sex and when i went to the toilet afterwards there was a fair amount of blood (no clots) and ive had very mild but noticeable cramping since thursday morning. its now friday morning and i am very very lightly spotting, only a spot on the toilet paper when i wipe and the mild cramps coome and go. i have to go to the doctor tonight after work and get my results but im really nervous. does anyone have any advice or has anyone felt like this early in their own pregnancies?

Hi Kellyanne,

Well I did at around 8 weeks I think (any ime between 6 to 8 anyhow) and am now almost 28 weeks pg. I had sex for 2 night in a row the 2 nights before and around 11 pm the third day had light brown.reddish spotting .It went on for about 10-15  minutes and went to emergency the same night. The gyn the same night visited me, saw no blood and told me it was a possible miscarriage...He gave me hcg and progesterone shots to take the next day, but, strangely. I didn't believe him...(I usually tend to worry and NEVER  tend to not believe a professional).Anyhow I went to see my own gyn the next day and he had a laugh saying that it could easily be the sex w-my husband the previous nights, and that because when you're pregnant your blood vessels are more numerous and supply more blood it's quite easy to  have light spotting. He visited me and didn't see anything to be worried about and told me that if every patient that called him worrying about spotting was having a miscarriage, there wouldn't be any more children born in his clinic. Then again, crsamping and continuous cramping may be a SIGN therefore go see your Doctor but don't over-worry like I did... : ) Best of luck and keep me posted.....
