6 month old very rapid eye movements

We have seen our 6 month old daughter suddenly begin to move her eyes very rapidly and randomly.  The 1st time was after a bath and as she was getting her pajamas put on I noticed her eyes moving up and down and side to side very rapidly.  She was not focusing on any particular objects and would not respond to verbal stimulus.  My wife picked her up and began to nurse her and she would then focus, respond to sounds and finger movement.  We checked her eyes for pupil dialation and all seemed normal.  My wife called the doctor and they said to make an appointment if it happened again.  2 weeks later she was in her bouncer on the table and my son noticed her looking around with her eyes moving rapidly.  Again my wife picked her up and only after nursing would she focus and respond normally.  We have an appointment with a nuerologist soon, but I am looking for further information if anyone has seen this before or may know something about it.  She had a well check and immunizations a week or two before the 1st episode and all checked out ok.

i dont want to scare you but i think you should ask for her to be checked for epilapisy sorry i cant spell it i looked after a 3 year old who had something like that and that what it was she if fine and it has not stoped her having a normal very active life

I would say the same thing as neasyc...I watched a program recently on discovery health about a baby with the same thing....first they couldnt figure out what it was but after lots of testing they found out it was epilepsy...
