6 months Postpartum and Irregular Spotting

Hi,
I am about 6 months postpartum (tragically, I had a stillborn beautiful little girl at 36 weeks), and my doctor said that I can try to conceive again after 3 menstrual periods. Well, I didn't even get my first menstrual until 3.5 months postpartum and as of today, I've only completed 2 menstrual cycles (so far 42 days apart, I was never regular pre-pregnancy). The first one was extremely heavy and lasted about 8 days, the second one wasn't as bad, but it also lasted for about 8 days (my pre-pregnancy menstruals were only about 3 - 4 days long). Two weeks after my second menstrual period ended, I started to spot...some were heavy enough where I had to use a light panty liner (I actually thought that I was starting another period). Sex seems to bring it on, but I am not sure. The spotting would fade away by evening, and then the next day, it would start again until the evening. It's been going on like this for about two weeks so far. Has this happened to anyone? I would really like to try to conceive again, but I am scared that I would lose the pregnancy if my uterine lining continues to shed like this...if this is what's going on. I can't see my doctor until Dec 2. If anyone has an answer, please help!!! Thanks.
