6 wks preg/bleeding/cramps but cervix closed

i've had bleeding for going on 4 days now. started brown, then dark/medium red, & bright red. sometimes light red looking. i was having a lot of clots in the beginning. but now thats lessened. i really didnt have cramps or any pain in the beginning. saw the doctor yesterday & they did a v/us which showed NO bleeding around sac & cervix closed. he said he didnt think i was having a miscarriage as of then. ectopic ruled out. my sac has gotten bigger since last u/s but no yolk sac seen yet. i'm supposed to be about 6 wks today. he mentioned something about since my hcg levels have been low thruout the pregnancy that my body could be confused & having a "period" even tho pregnant. or it could be a blighted ovum. so he said the bleeding could stop, or i could bleed more & mc or bleed more & not mc in which case i'd need a d&c, which i do not want! basically he didnt know wat was going on. :o) they took blood. find out my levels here in a couple hrs when i call for them. that will tell me a lot. if i'm mc or going to, then i want it to happen now & be done w/. no more drawing it out. but id rather that not happen. i'd rather have a miracle baby so to speak.
i woke up this morning bout 5:30 & i'm bleeding more but its like thinner than it has been w/ fewer clots. but i do have cramps now. so idk. gr! thought pregnancy was supposed to be easy.
