7-Weeks US

I had a standard U/S yesterday and I am 7 weeks 2 Days Pregnant..We found a heartbeat but couldn't find the fetus...Is this Normal or a cause for concern?

the heart forms inside the fetus.

I have no clue ...She told me to see my Dr Immediately...we searched and searched for the fetus...she told me we should be able to see it by now..and I asked if it could of been my heartbeat it was detecting but she said no... I am confused...

Are you sure they did an actual ultrasound and not just a check of the heartbeat with the doppler??  They are two different things.  If they saw the heartbeat with the u/s then they definitely saw the embryo.  If they used the doppler, it is possible only to pick up your heartbeat but not the babies.  If this was the case though they would use ultrasound to look for the embryo.  This is very weird.  I would ask your doctor to clarify.

Yes, if they SAW a heartbeat with a picture then that is a fetus. If they tried to use a doppler they are idiots because there is NO way a doppler can pick up a fetal heart beat at 7wks. They need to clarify what in the world they are talking about.
