7weeks, bloated and uncomfortable

by jennyb473, Mar 13, 2007 12:00AM
I'm 7w2d and already am hating all my clothes - I am bloated (craving salt and normally I don't use salt hardly at all) but have only gained 1-2 pounds...my weight always fluctuates a few pounds here and there, so I'm not out of my normal range at all yet.  My clothes are uncomfortable around my stomach - I don't want anything tight around my middle at all.  It is way to soon to buy maternity clothes and I hate to go up a size in regular clothes....any suggestions or has anyone else decided to buy maternity clothes really early for the comfort factor??  This is my 4th pregnancy (3 mc last year) so I'm wondering if it is my head that I secretly want to buy maternity clothes early to confirm to myself that this one is going to stick or what??  I think I'm going crazy already!!

I wear black yoga pants with heels and a nice top, it looks surprisingly nice.

Maybe you can buy a pair of stretch pants to help you through this transistion phase.  Also go to a fabric store you may be able to find extenders--it will give you more room in your waist and will keep you in those clothes longer and make you feel more comfortable.

I had to wear maternity jeans and pants at 12 weeks because my other jeans and pants did not fit. I remember buying a bigger pair of jeans at 8 weeks and they fit for about 2 weeks. And this is my first pregnancy other than the previous early miscarriage that I had. I am now 31 weeks and nothing seems to fit right. Good luck to you and if you want to buy some maternity clothes now I would! :)

I with GN, my clothes got tight early on about 8w and then by 13 or 14w I had to go bigger, but every time I bought a bigger size, they would only fit for a short time.

I swear by yoga pants.  Affordable, comfie and good for a few months.

I'm overweight to begin with and thankfully my office is not formal dress, but I still have to wear business casual - no jeans, no capris, no shorts.  I live in Florida so it now getting to be time to wear summer clothes again.  I'll be in the same "weather" clothes for the majority of my pregnancy so I could get away with buying some maternity pants at least and see if that helps.  I bought a pair of maternity cords last October when I was pg hoping to wear them thru the winter, then lost that pg but kept the pants.  Unfortunatly it's not the time of year to wear them now!  I guess I'll have to look for some stretchy pants that are still presentable for work or go ahead and start looking into some maternity pants.  thanks for the ideas!

where do you find yoga pants?   sports/fitness stores, or would Target/Wal-Mart have them?

I got great ones at Walmart, they are a cotton spandex blend.  I am 17 weeks and have a belly and they are still great, just tuck them under the belly.
