A Littl worried

Guese what? I've just found out I am pregnant......YAY
I am so over the moon and so is my partner. If my calculations are right then I would be about just over 5 weeks so Ive still got a long way to go, I havn't had an ultrasound yet but I am so longing to have one just to see if it is alright but my partner does not want to have one until I'm 12 weeks, till I'm in the safe zone, the reason for this is because we have had 3 previous misscarriages in the past, the last one was in January 2007, we didn't have an ultrasound for that one but the two before that we had an ultrasound both at 7 weeks, then went to have another one at 12 weeks but found out they both had died, one at 8 weeks and one at 10 weeks. My partner feels that the early ultrasounds had caused the m/c but I don't know. I really really want an u/s but is he right? does an early u/s harm the embryo?

i had many early u/s (and many since) and my baby is fine. there is no evidence that early us can harm the fetus. your other babies seemed to have stopped growing at a critical time for development, so it's likely that there was an underlying problem. also, have you had tests done on yourself (progesterone, blood clotting, etc...)? those are more likely causes.

There is NO evidence whatsoever that any U/S, early or not cause any harm to the baby. I am 18wks now. I had a u/s at 5wks, 7wks, 10wks, 14wk, 15wks, 17wks and I go back at 19wks and will probably have another cause I'm high risk. My baby girl is doing just fine. I honestly understand wanting to see the baby. I love all my u/s. I'd wait however till atleast 7wks or so. It was so disappointing for me when I went in at 5wks and saw nothing but a sac, no heartbeat or anything. It worried me, but at 5wks there isn't much to see. So good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you for your comments, I have now been seeing a Gyno for about almost a year now and I have had all the tests under the sun as my partner has aswell and everyone of them has come up clear, he seems to think that maybe because I'm only 21 that maybe I'm just having a stroke of bad luck or something and that its just a matter of time before one actually sticks.
I'm feeling really positive about this one though because in my previous prenancies I did not get any symptoms whatsoever, but with this one I don't feel ill or anything but my boobs are very tender, I'm extremely tired all the time and I'm constantly hungry, so here's hoping. Also with my other ones though, at 7 weeks I found that I could just feel it if I moved a certain direction with my pelvis, but with this one, I know I'm only 5 weeks but should I be feeling something? because I don't feel anything I don't even feel the tightness or, I don't know its like theres nothing even there, now I am a very very small framed person, I only weigh 52kg, being this small I would have thought that I could feel something by now.
