hi everyone, i know im not supposed to post a question here....but everything else was full! The question is, if u have an irregular cycle, how can you properly know when you are ovulating? Sometimes i am regular, and sometimes i go 3 months with no visit from AF! My Dr. had me on provera, but i hated it (2 yrs ago)so I stopped taking it...Oh, and also, if your breast are always sore during or before AF arrives, then how is breast tenderness a sigh of pregnancy? I am on day 36 (once again)and I am just looking for insight. I don't take HPT's anymore...they are two dissapointing:o(

Do you ever get mucus that is really slippery and like the consistency of egg-whites?  If you do, then this is the indicator of ovulation.  Your body produces that slimey mucus in order to better enable the swimmers to get into your cervix.  Look for that stretchy, clear, slippery mucus.  You should be able to stretch it between your fingers 2, 3, maybe even 4 inches.

Oh, and I did not consider sore breasts one of my signs of pregnancy.  I don't think this applies to everyone, because like you, I always got them around the time of AF.  Now that I'm not taking bc pills anymore I don't get sore boobs at all - I have no idea why.  But my breasts didn't start changing until I was somewhere like 12-16 weeks pregnant.

Have you tried an Ovulation Scope? they are like around $15-$20, available at drug store / pharmacy etc..
It's reusable, basically the concept is to place saliva on a little lense, let it dry for 15 minutes than look at it through the scope (the one I had was self lit when you hit a button) It shows you a pattern in your saliva, when you are fertile there is supposed to be a "Ferning" pattern (it shows pictures in the directions) I had tried mine but had already ovulated prior to that but at any rate it is worth a shot & you can use it every day- hope that helps :)

You can get an Ovulation Predictor Kit and start testing on CD 9 to CD 19.  You can also start charting you periods and subtract 10-16 days from when you start to indicate possible ovulations days and average them out since you usually ovulate 10-16 days before your next period starts.  Hope that makes sense.  I would also schedule a pre-pregnancy appointment with your doctor.

Always irregular--dont apoligize  post your question!!
Most of us go back and re read questions and responses ..If it doesnt get answered because things are "filled up" post it again..
Someone will get to it....

Most of us have done the same thing popped in a question here or there and  I think WE ALL have  discussed  our lives, whether its the kids, dh, moving,  birth stories, work, I have NO problem with it, astrological signs, funny wives tales about sex of babies...
Im sure med help would yell at us if we never discussed anything related to children but it usually is followed with questions or concerns even while we vent about stuff..

p.s. We love you Cindy and Phil

you can also see your OB/GYN and ask that they perform a blood test for you between CD 20-22 to check your progesterone levels. They can give you a pretty good indication of if you even ovulated that cycle.  That way, if you did, you can compare the signs you had that cycle to your next cycle and "guestimate" your most fertile days.  If you didn't ovulate, your doctor can do some tests and possibly even prescribe medication to assist you in ovulating, assuming you are trying to get pregnant.

hope this helps.

I have a question now.......
When these Am i pregnant posters first(well they have always been here but now more frequently)
came, a few people were labelled as being "RUDE"  but now there seems to be alot of these posters and others are getting ticked from them also and making their own comments... I think this is a double standard...Since Im one of the ones being labelled as rude I would just like to know how some can say stuff and others get in trouble for it????????

MY OPINION ONLY

First off I want to say I DO like everyone here, some more than others (lol...that was meant as a joke for the one's with a sense of he haw)
We all have different knowledge, experiences that we all can share to answer questions, talk or whatever
I just think we all can have our opinions, whether they conflict or agree
but it should be fair when it comes to playing the game

I agree, it seems like someone will give lecture on how to be and turn around and do the same thing.

by Still a mom, Aug 01, 2005 12:00AM
Well I was charting and I kinda got off of it. It is hard to remember to take my temp before I go get my crying baby in the morning.

Anyway my cervix is open and I am cramping, so hopefully that means I am ovulating. Since I don't have af back since having Alex I am not sure, but I am hoping. Dh and I baby danced last night and will test in a couple weeks. I will try to fight the urge to post a "am I pregnant post." lol

i  like that-- me and my dh "baby danced"
My biggest issues are with I had unprotected sex with six guys dont know who the father is could i be pregnant and get assistance too!... call Maury....oh ya and take a test...lol..
Its all good

by alwaysirregular, Aug 01, 2005 12:00AM
"baby danced"...I just love it!!! The doc told me i wasn't ovulating, and perscribed me to wear the patch for 5 months...to have a more regular cycle, then "baby dance" everyday the week that I ovulate...that was 2 yrs ago...it didn't work. I don't want to take fertility drugs bc of the risk of multiple births... three babies are more expensive than 1!

by mommy02, Aug 01, 2005 12:00AM
Hi everyone, I am new here.  I am a mom of 2 beautiful girls and am trying for #3 with no luck yet.  I started my first dose of clomid 50mg 2 weeks ago for 5 days...did anyone still have the nausea 2 weeks after the last dose, I hope I'm not jumping the gun and already suspecting preg....but I am still very gaggy and lightheaded at times.....

When I was trying with Alex, all the women were "baby dancing" and sending "baby dust" to each other. I always thought it was cute and kinda corny. (What exactly do you think baby dust REALLY is).  lol

Could be the combination of all, Heat makes people very tired, I know when i have AF I eat more and want to sleep more too,
Also being off work, are you out and about???getting some form of exercise?? The less you do  your metabolism slows down exercises boosts metabolism..Im dreading going back to work I have been off for a year with maternity leave I use to go go go and I just know the first shift is going to kill me!! until I get back in the swing of things

I didn't have any side effects while on 50 mg Clomid last month, but I do know hormones can cause the symptoms you describe.  I would wait until you are a week late for AF and then take a test? My doctor told me to call her if I haven't not started by CD 31. Did your doctor give you any instruction?

I was here during that time...it seemed that there were a lot of us on here having trouble getting pregnant...then all of a sudden we were ALL pregnant...seems that the new ones popping on are already there...pregnant that is and those of us who were ... aren't ready to start again (obviously there are exceptions)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ANOTHER QUESTION~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been very sleepy lately, I took the summer off.... I just run errands and take it easy all day...but I am always tired! I am 23 and a half (if that matters), decent shape ( slightly lumpy). I always have enegry, so this is new to me...has anyone experienced this before???
It is very hot here in Chicago...could it be the heat???
Oh, and I don't think I am pg...could the comming of AF do this to me???
by alwaysirregular, Aug 02, 2005 12:00AM
To: mommy02
I was curious, do u have the same symptoms when AF is comming as you do when you first become pg? I know every woman is different, but what are some of the basic sighs you may be pg...besides no AF???
by gonza, Aug 02, 2005 12:00AM
To: alwaysirregular
I had exactly the same symptoms when I was newly preggers that I do when I am expecting AF.  I was expecting to get af and was 4 days late when i took the test and it was positive.  Also, I was 5 weeks when I found out, earlier in the day (before i took the test) i had an ultrasound done (i work at a school that teaches sonography) to help a girl with her homework and i asked if i was preggo.  The director of the program, who has been doing ultrasounds for years, said that she did not think i was.  She said it looked as though i was about to start af by the lining of my uterus.  SO, my point is, very early in preggers you cannot see anything really on an ultrasound.  Lots of ladies post worried about sac, size, heartbeat, etc.
by melstyles, Aug 02, 2005 12:00AM
So Clomid, man alive I have been on it for four cycles now, and I am hoping that uping the dosage will do the trick, August seems like a good month to get preggo. We had an alright long weekend.  We put up a ceiling fan and apparently we cannot do anything together..lol
But we had a good time making up....lol
Have a wonderful day everyone
Hello,
My name is Holly. I am 20 years old. I am planning on going off the pill (i have been on it for 3 years now) in November. I hope to get pregnant right away so I can give the news to my in-laws and my parents as an xmas gift. Do people usually have problems conceiving the first few months they go off the pill? How does it work? I also want to lose weight before I have a baby. As it is I am not comfortable in my skin. If anyone has suggestions or would like to chat, please email me at butterfly_baybee2005***@**** I will respond to everyone!
Also, will you only conceive on certain days of the month? I can use as much information as I can
