ANYONE HAS EVER HAD AN U/S AND NOT SEEN THE HEARTBEAT AND WENT BACK A WK LATER AND SEE THE HEART BEAT~PLEASE SHARE ONLY POSITIVE STORIES

I WAS TOLD AT 8 WKS PREGNANT THAT THEY COULDNT SEE MY BABY' HEART BEAT. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE FETUS LOOKED LIKE A 6 WK OLD ...SO THEY THINK IT MIGHT HAVE DIED 2 WKS AGO....THEY ASK ME TO GO BACK....I HAVE HOPE, ANYONE EVER BEEN IN THIS SITUATION?

its hard to say..one of my gfs went in for an u/s at 8 weeks and they heard the heart beat but when she went back at 10 weeks they codunt hear it..they told her the baby had died at 9 weeks but just to make sure before they performed a D&C she had another u/s and this time the heart beat was there...to make a long story short she ended up losing it at 12 weeks they dont know the cause..i know you said just positive stories but being this early they cant really do anything all you gotta do is pray and i wish you the best of luck!!

Its possible that you ovulated later than you think. I've heard of lots of people not seeing a heartbeat at six weeks and then going on to see it a week or two later and having normal healthy pregnancies. Next week should give you more information as to whether or not the baby has developed more and hopefully you'll see a little heart beating away.

If you search on these message boards (and others on the internet), there are many, MANY successful & encouraging stories of an u/s initially not detecting a heartbeat and going back a week or so later and then finding one.  Just as alaysha said, sometimes they have your dates wrong.  At first, the docs always go by the date of you LMP.  I've read stories on here where people haven't seen/heard the heartbeat until after 10wks, so keep your head up! =)  Please let us know how everything turns out.

It is possible you weren't as far on as you thought. Like you I was in the same situation and my beautiful daughter is now 16 months and running rings round us. Fingers crossed all goes well for you and the remainder of your pregnancy.

not seeing a heart beat is consistant with a 6 week fetus.  There are tons of reasons why this could be happening with happy outcomes.  a good site that I used for encouraging stories was www.missedmiscarriage.com.  Early pregnancy is a very weird time where you always thought you knew how it would go, conceive, test, puke, get fat, have a baby.  When it is actually happening to you, you realize how many different concerns that questions there really are.  Good Luck.

thank you so much guys for ur comments, well, im going next friday at 3pm, for the second u/s i have been so stressed out....its as if i lost hope which i feel aweful about...this would be my 2nd m/c...i guess thats why im so negative..im scared this stress causes more damages if i am still pregnant , with a viable pregnancy! thanks so much for ur ecouragement !

try not to be stressed. I had a 6 wk U/S, 2 sacs 1 heartbeat I went back and they found both heartbeats so keep your head up there's still hope. Hope it works out, let us know.

I went in for an ultrasound with my son when i was about six months pregnant and they couldn't find his heartbeat and thought part of his heart was missing. They let me see the part of the machine that they put on your belly and it took me to find his heartbeat after 3 nurses and 2 doctors had already tried.And a different machine found that his heart was not missing anything. Also with my daughter when i was about 3 months pregnant they couldn't find her heartbeat either. but after about 20 minutes they brought in another machine and found it almost instantly.So it could be the way the baby is positioned or it could have been the machine. Hopefully your baby is okay. God bless you.
