I would try a different dentist. You should be able to see a dentist. Call your Dr. They may be able to help. I had an absessed tooth before i found out i was pregnant. I talked to my dr. about it because i had been on anitbiotics and pain killers. He said that everything would be ok. Hope this helps

i had a tooth pulled while pregnant in both of my 1st 2 pregnancies.  they were abessed also.  i won't lie, it totally sucked b/c all they were able to give me was novicaine (did i spell that right?).  w/ my 1st i was 8 months pregnant and w/ my 2nd i think i was around 5-6 months.  but someone will do it...  you just have to find one who will.  tooth pain is the absolute worst and i know what you're going through...  make some phone calls and find someone who will fix it for you!

Yeah, you have a bad dentist.  I worked in the dental field and you need to be seen.  Did the dentist you did see prescribe a antibiotic?  The antibiotic can help, it will work on the infection, you will start to feel better, but you will still need either a root canal or extraction.  Once your finished with the antibiotic, it can all come back and you'll be right where you started.  Some dentists prefer not to work on pregnant women, but dental work during pregnancy is usually pretty safe.  The local anestheisa used to numb the tooth will not hurt the baby.  However, DO NOT USE THE NITRIOUSOXIDE (laughing gas).  The effects of it on a fetus are undetermined, but they tend to lean on the side that it can cause some unwanted risks.  Did they give you anything for pain?  Usually dentist tend to prescribe Lortab.  Its pretty safe to take during pregnancy, the main ingredient is tylenol.  If you don't have to take it don't, but if you have it- its better to just take it then stress the baby cause your in pain.  I'm sorry your feeling bad, I've had this and it hurts.  Do try another dentist.. infection in any form is just not good.  Hope this helps.  Take care.

I had an abcessed tooth, used antibiotics and ended up having a root canal!  Dentist used local injection into my gums to deaden. Go to another dentist!  Good Luck!
