Accurate Testing ?

Accurate Testing ?

I was wondering when after your missed period would an accurate test come back? I am pretty sure I am pregnant, because my breast are sore, very tired, and of course missed period...

Well, before this (maybe) pregnancy I have right now, I would have been quick to tell you that you should be testing positive with HPT or a the doc by now...but now I'm not really so sure.  Every pregnancy is clearly different.  This would be my third pg and you'd think I'd know by now if the way I feel points to pg.  I'm positive it does.  I'm 3 days late, and have many symptoms, including nausea.  But 2 HPT's have been negative.  For some women and even for the same woman with a different pregnancy, I've read so many stories that it can take a while to test positive.  I've even been hearing of women going to the doc and testing negative there.

Anyways, of all I have read and all the stories I've come across on this, I have to say that under almost all circumstances, by the 5-6 weeks, hCG levels have gotten very high and you really should be testing pos by then if you are, infact, pg.

Good luck to you!!  Since we're in the same boat, let me know what happens, ok?
Kristyn.

Sorry!  I think my answer was a little off.  I don't know what day of cycle you are on right now, but I guess my answer more runs along the lines that if you have tested negative and you don't trust it, just know that 58% of pregnant women have received false negatives.
Having said that, 97% of women test positive with a sensitive HPT just a couple days after missed period.  Positive results can almost always be trusted, negatives may not be so accurate.  And as in my story above, strange things have happened to a lot of us.
What day are you on and have you done a test yet?
Kristyn.

I am about 8 or 9 days late, but I haven't taken a test yet.

About 2 weeks after you think you possibly conceived.

Some people ovulate at strange times during their cycle so going by when your period is due can be a bad indicator (unless you ovulate about 2 weeks into your cycle, or earlier)

From the last day of your period it takes roughly 2 weeks for the baby to be conceived. i dont no when you r last period was but if its less then 3 weeks ago you prob wont get an accurate result. I would wait till the day of you next period then test as this will give a more accurate result.  GOOD LUCK

You should take a home pregnancy test and if you are unsure of your answer you should call an ob/gyn doctor and get a pregnancy test done. They would either do an urine pregnancy test or a blood pregnancy test. The blood pregnancy test is accurate. How late are you? If you have a couple of symptoms wate at least till it been 14 days {2 weeks} after your missed period.
