Advice on stoller travel systems

Advice on stoller travel systems

I had bought a Graco car seat and Peg Perego stroller separately but now realize it would be better to have a travel system instead with the car seat fitting in the stroller well. I love the color of the peg perego stroller (mint green) but will return both to get a travel system. I looked online and Graco metrolite looks good b/c lightweight as peg perego stroller is, but then graco passage systems seem better and about the same weight as the lightweight ones, no? Lastly, BabiesRUs salesperson told me to buy the Chicco system, but the car seat seemed heavy to me. I also considered getting a peg perego car seat to fit in the stroller I already have but it's very heavy too. Has anyone used any of these and which do you like best in terms of color, quality, safety, and weight to carry around baby in the car seat carrier. Thanks!

I think it's different strokes for different folks, but this is what I'm getting and why:

Graco safeseat + Quattro deluxe travel system.  The safeseat is a bit heavier than the snugride, but it has same safety features and fits nicely with it's matching Quattro travel system.  I liked the Quattro stroller system better than the Metrolite, because it felt more substantial and is not as wabbly as the metrolite (in fact, it's not as wabbly as any of them - we tried Peg Perego, Chicco - them all  - it's like the SUV of strollers, though, which is kinda funny).  Oh, and when we walked with the Peg Perego, our toes hit the back wheels sometimes when we were talking and not paying great attention to our stride with the stroller.  Anyway, for those times that I think the Quattro is just too much/too heavy, I also picked out the black frame stroller (can't remember the name, but it's at Babies R Us - they can tell you what it is) that is extremely lightweight and is easier to put away in the car for quick jaunts  - it fits Graco  snugride and safeseat car seats.  The Quattro is for strolling for longer periods of time.  Good luck!  Whatever you choose will be fine for you, I'm sure.  And, you can always switch!

I made a big mistake buying an Eddie Baurer (sp?)  travel system that was way too heavy and bulky. It was so hard to steer around corners and get in and out of the car. After my daughter was out of an infant seat, we immediately went out to buy  a new stroller. We bought the Peg Perego Pliko, which we LOVE. We will be byuing an infant seat to fit the Peg Perego stroller when our new baby arrives.

You can buy something called Snap and Go.  You just snap any infant car seat onto it (it's very small and compact) and then when the baby is out of the infant seat you can use your stroller.
I have 2 strollers... I had the Graco Travel system, which I loved because it was so easy to bring the car seat in and out and the stroller folded up easily and then because I live onthe beach and go walking on the boardwalk a lot I have a jogger but I got the Jeep Jogger with rubber wheels and it also has an MP3 player.  It's a bit larger and not as easy to take in and outof the trunk of my car but still it's a great one.

Thanks. I actually have the Graco frame to put the carseat in it but I don't like it (not a real stroller to use by itself), so I'll try to return these things and buy a Graco travel system all in one. I do like the Peg Perego kind but for you who wants to have that carseat, it's is very heavy so hard to carry around a baby in it. But maybe I'll keep the Peg Perego stroller for when the baby outgrows the infant carseat or it gets too heavy to carry him in the carseat carrier. Boy...more important things to obsess about with having a baby but this has been mine this week! :)
