Advice

I went to the doctor yesterday and when the nurse practioner did a vaginal ultrasound, she thought she saw something, but wasn't 100% sure b/c what she thought she saw was very tiny.  The n.p was guestimating that I am 4-5 weeks along.  She had me go do all the blood work along with have my HCG levels tested.  She wanted me to go back and have it done again in 48 hrs.  Well today another nurse called and said that I didn't have to go back for my second blood  test b/c my HCG levels were at 5000, so my doctor wanted me to come in next week for another ultrasound.  I think this is good news, but then I just read somewhere that if you have HCG levels over 1500 you should see something for sure on an ultrasound, or you may have an ectopic pregnancy.  Anyone have any adivce? Am I worrying for nothing?

I had levels of 10,987 at 5 1/2 weeks and they could not see ANYTHING I'm 22 weeks now and everything seems fine. HCG levels differ from person to person you may just have high levels. At 4-5 weeks that wouldn't see much of anything anyways it would just appear to be a dot. Hope this helps.

I think it is over 10,000 before they can see anything.

I personally think that early us are a curse as they seem to stress us all out.....,about 8 weeks is when you start to get a really good look.

I'm not sure about the HCG levels but yours sound good...the baby is VERY small when you are 5 weeks...it looks like a dot...it sounds like you are good...Congrats!
