The next step would be up to you and your doctor. Did they do any kinds of tests before they prescribed you CLomid? Because I have found that Clomid is very commonly prescribed and sometime prescribed when not needed. I believe that most doctors like to do three rounds of Clomid before move on to any other options.
As for my story I was prescribed Clomid because with my progesterone test on CD 21 concluded that I was not ovulation. Therefore my doctor prescribed me 50mg of Clomid and then tested my progesterone again on CD 21 and found it was still not high enough so she upped me to 100 mg.. and tested my progesterone on CD 21 and found that my progesterone was right where she wanted it. I got pregnant on my 3rd cycle of Clomid that ended in a m/c. We have tried 2 more months of clomid with OPK's and we are now ready to send me to a specialist because the end of September was my two year anniversary of TTC.
If you feel like your doctor is not giving you enough information, or doing enough tests then you might want to seek a second opinion. Because Clomid can have some side effects such as ovarian cysts. Good luck to you
My dr. gave perscripted Clomid for 3 cycles. He said if nothing after that, then he'd up it.
When I called and said that we had been trying for 8 months, he scheduled me an apt for blood work to see if I was ovulating, which I wasn't.
I started the Clomid but never went for more blood work. Either way, I got pregnant after my 2nd round of Clomid, although it ended in a MC.
I'm hoping I'm pregnant again, AF hasn't showed, and I'm nervous to test. My dr. said not to take Clomid the next few cycles after my MC while trying because he said once your body ovulates with the help of Clomid, it should be able to go on it's own, if not, then he said to call if nothing in a few months. We'll see.
