Almost two year old and my newborn

I brought my newborn baby girl from the hospital 5 days ago. My 22 months boy at first accepted her very well. We made sure not to interfere when he "studies" her, and have him help with things like diapers and pushing the stroller. It seemed like it was going well and he is singing to her, talking to her, looking for her when he gets home from day care etc. On the other hand he doesn't sleep well (seems to be getting worse every day). he almost stopped eating and wants only milk (aybe because we told him that she drinks only milk). She is nursing and he isn't but he isnt nursing for a long time so I cant imagine he misses it (just maybe misses my time when I nurse). The worse thing (and I am not sure it is related) is that in 5 days he was already sick and injured himself quite a few times (needed stitches). Almost seems like he is either doing it for attention or his head is just not there and he keep falling off of things. Any ideas of what else I can do to assure him I love him... I really want my happy kid back. Breaks my heart to see him like this. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

It's pretty common for a toddler to want to have only a bottle when a new baby comes home.  I'd let him do it, he'll get bored with it pretty soon.  What will probably help him the most is if you give him one-on-one time with you, no infant in sight, not just recruit him to be a helper to care for the new baby but play with him and interact with him the way you used to do before the baby came.  He needs to know that at least some of the time, things will be like they were.  Read his books, play with his trucks, and all the things you used to do.  That was "normal," he probably won't feel like things are normal until he sees that it has not all been swept away.  Good luck.
