Am i okay

Am i okay

Hello, i a m feeling very frustated at the moment.  I have had about 8 miscarriages in the last 2 yrs.  The last one was on July 20th. My cycle returned on August 21st. But now i still haven't started. I took a p/t 3dys before my period and was - i took another aweek after and was - .I took another on October 2 and was also -. My breast hurt and i feel some nausea occassionally, . And now i discovered a little fluid on my nipples. I started thinking and i remembered that it has been going on for awhile. Could it be because of all my miscarriages?By the way i turned 39 in August. I used to have a period every month, right on track . These is the first time i miss a period, and actually notice some clear liquid of my nipples.I am also taking herbs like Raspberry, Damiana, Lady's Mantle , these herbs are to help regulate our cycle. Any kind of irregular cycles. Can these also be the cause? I am stressing too much over my miscarriages and now these. Someone please give me some info. on what is going on with me.  P.S. i also did not ovulate after my last period. I think....Could it be pre-menapause? I hope not because it will devastate me even more.

Maybe you need to give your body and you a rest it is hard to have one miscarriage but so many. It seems your body is still adjusting from the last miscarriage. Were the herbs prescribed by a naturpath or herbalist? Maybe they are having some effect too. If you miscarried in July it is unlikely you are in peri menopause. Your hormones maybe unbalanced though. Give yourself sometime to get back to normal. I am sorry you have had so many losses. Did the docs say why it is happening?

Hi Divina:

Sorry to hear what you're going through. I'm in the same boat with 6 mcs in the past year and a half.  I think I might be preg again and am a bit freaked out.

Did you go through the tests?  All mine came back normal.  My doc now says it's just my age (38) and gives me a 50-50 chance of a normal preg with each pregancy.  IVF with PGD is an option for $20K+ and with that there's only a 50-50 chance of even getting preg.

Good luck to you and please keep me posted.

Divina,
have you talked to your doctor or a R.E. to see why you are having so many m/c's?  Have they tested you for anything?

I am sorry about your losses. Can I ask you did you have your thyroids checked and were your progesteron levels normal? I have had untreated thyroid problems, endometriosis, fibroids and progesteron problems which is probably why I have missed the child boat so I am asking or is is an act of god???

First of all, thanks for responding to my message. On my last miscarriage i was 16 wks, and my doctor said she found some reason to prescribe heprin. It is an anticougulant medicine?  I was injecting it on my belly. She said she thinks i have some kind of antibodies, an immunology disorder. For some reason they say i dont have thyroid problem, but i go to a nathropathic  doctor and he said i do have it. And i have lots of hypo thyroid symptoms. Another time a different doctor said  i had low progesterone level so he gave me pg suppositories. Well that didn't work either. The weird thing is that my blood work is normal they cant find a thyroid problem. I have an appointment with an infertility doc. on the 11th, maybe she can give me some answers.

Hi Rusalka:

I've been tested for thyroid, genetic issues, Lupis, clotting issues, progesterone, genetics, FHS, you name it.  Everything is normal.  This last preg was the only one they tested the "products of conception."  Turns out it had an extra chromosome. I have no idea what caused the others but my doc thinks they were genetic problems, too.

Are you having similar problems?  I'd definitely demand to get tested.  If they find something, there's a good chance they can treat it.

Divina your thyroid tsh has to be at 1ish to conceive the doc here believes. This may help sometimes doctors say a level of 3 is okay. It isn't and if you still have symptons. It is out. Hang in there as I am hypothryroid with high antibodies. got to go and thanks.

i dont understand, what do you mean i have to be 1ish, to get pregnant? You now i dont have trouble getting pregnant, i have trouble staying pregnant. Doctors think it could be my thyroid. Other doctors think it could be progesterone and others low immunity.  Hopefully soon my infertility doc. can pin point the problem if any.  Thanks for your comments.

your tsh thyroid level. Thyroid probs can cause miscarriages and cretinism. Sorry I wasn't judging you at all. I have been dealing with all these things and read many articles as I was wondering why  I haven't been able to hold. Read some of the thyroid forums and Mary Shomons article at about.com There maybe some connection. That's all. Thanks for your help.

If you have thyroid symptoms it is possible you have thyroid problems. Sometimes doctors see different lab variables as normal. But generally a tsh over 3 is not normal especially if you have symptoms. Also if do conceive you may need meds or an increase in meds as the pregnancy changes your hormone levels. Worth a shot.  A lot of women can carry to full term. Mary Shomon has a thyroid and pregnancy book out she is hypothyroid and carried full term. It is a good source of info.
