And the name is......

Well, after trying to keep it a secret, Dh slipped last night and said something in front of my mom and dad. So......her name will be

                 Carrigan Delaney

That is a beautiful name.  I love it.  If you do not mind me asking why did you want to keep it a secret anyway????  Is it a family name that you wanted to suprise a family member with???  We have a lady here at work who is expecting her first grandson any day now and her son and daughter in law are keeping the name a secret as well.  Well like I said it is a beautiful name and Congrats.

That's beautiful!  She is sure to be the only one in her class with that name when she starts school!  I understand keeping it quiet.  I've noticed that people always have opinions about the name and if this is what you want, you don't need any negativity.  I guess if you tell it before the baby is born, people feel like their opinion might change your mind, but after the baby is born it is too late!

Blondie - well, I wanted to keep the sex a secret, but Dh would have busted a gut on that one. So we compromised on keeping the name a secret and we were going to let kennedy (our 6yr old) announce to everyone what it was when she was born. But, Dh is too excited and let it slip, which is o.k.

The reason I wanted to keep ours a secret is because I don't want that "look". You know the one. The look where people look at you with raised eyebrows as if to say "You are going to saddle your child with THAT name?"

And I have realized that it doens't really matter if you choose Bartholamew or Jason, people STILL are goign to give you THAT "look"! LOL

Oh, well, I have come to the conclusion myself that it's OUR baby and unless you are naming them after the person you are telling, you will always get the look of death!

That is a beautiful name!  Very different, which is what I love about it.

When I find out what I am having (which is a while away), I have my names picked...Teagan Jamisen (boy), or Serenity Celeste (girl).

K - Yep! I've already gotten that look from the MIL, but this is the way I feel....she can kiss it! I know this is her first and may be her last, but she'll get over it! We're having some issues there anyway, and I know it's hormones, but right now I could care less what she thinks! I know that sounds awful, but it's just a mess! Are you still considering the name Manhattan? I think that is cool!!!

Oh Speaking of name's, if I am *crossing finger*, we are hopeing for a girl, and we are talking about nameing her, "Quinavere" so what do you all think. Is that pretty or what lol. Sorry I love crazy unique names.

Emma1-Nope not on Manhattan anymore. I just couldn't get DH to succumb LOL! We are on Colton now. And I am thinking that one will stick. we both really like it and it's a little of what we both want. I want urban-hip-unique while he wants traditional-texan. In my opinion, Colton covers both of our desires!

Steeley Ann- YOu should get that book "Cool Names for Babies" byt the authors of Beyond Jennifer and Jason, Madison and Morgan. It's great and funny. There is also a book out called "Don't name your baby" which picks apart virtually every name you can think of. It's humorous more than anything. The point of it is that you can name your child ANYTHIGN in the world and children will make fun of it at some point. As for Quinavere....hhmm....that would take me some getting used to myself. But then again, I wanted to name my girl Genevieve.

I know the look exactly that you ladies are talking about.  I finally told my MIL that if we have a boy his name will probably be Braydon (not sure how we are going to spell it).  She just gave me "that look" and says 'oh that will be hard to get used to'.  She also doesn't like the girl name we have tentatively picked which may be Kiara Jade.  Well she didn't like the name for DD either which is Cienna (pronounced like the color Sienna) but now she brags about the compliments she gets when she tells people her granddaughters name and can you imagine she is actually proud of the name. Guess it grew on her.

Ok now I really feel common.  I am still sticking with Christopher.  I guess I can look at the bright side.  With everyone coming up with unique original names there will NOT be another Christopher in his class.  I like the names everyone has picked and don't let anyone sway your decisions with "THE LOOK"  Good Luck to you all.

That is such a beautiful name. We are having a little girl and her name will be Emily Nicole. Ours I think is the number one name in the country for girls but I did not care. Oh but DH pointed out the other day that her initials will be E N D. I did not realise it lol.
