by Tommokat, Mar 31, 2003 12:00AM
I have just been prescribed Ibilex an antibiotic, I was wondering if this will affect the pill and whether or not I should use extra protection? and how long I should use the extra protection if the antibiotics do affect the pill

Yes you should use extra protection, sometimes the antibiotic affects the pill. My suggestion for how long to use the extra protecion would be for at least a week after you stop the meds. Because the drug is still in your system. Good Luck

The doctors have always told me, and I also worked as a pharmacy tech for 3 years, that if you are on an antibiotic and the pill then you should use protection at least through the rest of your pills.
