Antibiotics during pregnancy

I had a rupture of the amniotic bag after the amnio test during my 15th week of pregnancy.  I lost almost all the amniotic fluid.  Fortunately, all is well and I am now in my 26th week of pregnancy.  I was given intravenous antibiotics for three days after the rupture.  I was later given oral antibiotics during my 16th week twice a day for five days.  A few weeks later I developed an infection in the neck of the uterus and I was given antibiotics again, twice a day for six days during week 23rd.  All seems to be ok now, but I am very worried about the possible effects all these antibiotics may have on the baby.

Im sure the doctors were sure of what they prescribed. I was in the hospital for a long time with my first pregnancy and saw many cases which were treated with antibiotics and none of them had any problems at all. I also was given antibiotics during pregnancy a couple of times but fortunately for minor reasons.

My water was leaking at 33 weeks so I was admitted to the hospital until delivery.  I was on IV antibiotics the whole time I was in the hospital to prevent infection, and my little girl was born perfectly healthy.  I am sure there are risks involved with any meds during pregnancy, but I also think they only give you meds when the risks of not having the meds outweigh the risks of the meds themselves.  I hope this helps.
