I am a long time sufferer from anxiety. I have been doing so great and I haven't had an anxiety attack for about 2 months now. I am 5 weeks pregnant and I am at work right now. I was sitting at my chair, sitting on my left leg as it was curled under me. I often sit like this. I statred to get a sharp pain on my back left upper side. Suddenly my herat stated racing like crazy. I excused myslef to the rest room and my heart rate went down pretty quickly. My leg feels wierd still ike it is still waking up (heavy) as it was asleep. I cannot stop yawning, which always happens to me when I have a panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia attack, and I am really nervous still. I am afraid that this is bad for my baby. Please help.
Of course if we could all cutCuts and puncture wounds out stress it would be the ideal littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys world for our baby. But baby's are very resilient. Keep in mind many studies on 'stress and pregnancy' included womenWomen's way carrying during the Holocaust, war time, extreme disasters, abusive relationships, homelessness and addictionDrug abuse and dependence, etc. Even third world countries w/ contaminated water, no pre-natal care, carry healthy full term babies. Find me a womanWomen's way out there that doesn't have everyday stress- stress at work, home, stuff that's always been in your life. If you were medicated for anxiety before pregnancy, talk to your doctor. Otherwise DON'T let this be another area to stress about. You will calm yourself down as you have in the past as soon as you can. And your baby will be fine. Really. Perhaps yoga or breathing techniques will help for your own relaxation when these attacks come on..
I to have delt with panic attacks/aniety for several years, i am 33 and 37 weeks pregnant, although I have to say this pregnancy has been good to me by the means of my attacks you have to stay head strong.. each time you get one tell yourself you can get through it, I have managed without meds and prefer it that way.. I think perhaps my biggest fear is having one during labor and delivery.. I have set my mind though that nomatter the outcome of my thoughts the baby has to come out, we have a choice to make, we can stress through it until we actually bring on an attack or we can coach our brains to let our bodies do what they are set up to do naturally, either way our babies are comming.. it will get better, I find that my vitamin has helped me alot, so I definately encourage your prenatals..hang in there, i know firsthand how scary it can be sometimes but were strong.. we can do it..Good luck !!
