Any good maternity clothes out there?

by JTSHB, Apr 24, 2007 12:00AM
Hello All!
I think it's time I need to shop for some pants as I'm busting out of mine (17 wks).....

I am size 14 or large size......any good maternity places to shop that you can suggest that are affordable....I don't want to spend a lot...just items to get me by casually and at work which is pretty casual anyhow.....

I don't want to start buying the real maternity looking items...so if I can get away with cargo pants, sweat pants, and loose shirts, I will be happy.

During my last pregnancy (I plan to with this one as well), I bought all my maternity clothes at Old Navy and the Gap. They were less expensive than Motherhood inc. and They have a good resell value if they are kept in good shape. I was able to resell most of mine on ebay and thrift stores. I actually got a lot on clearence, but most of the prices were inexpensive anyways. I know some Old Navy and Gap stores don't carry maternity, but I Am blessed to live neart both, and I think more are starting to carry it. Good luck, and happy shopping!:)

Target has inexpensive maternity!!

Sorry, but I have had no luck with any maternity clothes - the only ones that fit and that are nice - I think are at target.  They just look better and fit better and they come in sizes.  That is the only place I go - every where else sucks for me - that is just me.

Personally, I have been checking out local Goodwill stores.  You have to be a digger- like, you have to be able to spend a little time to look for the good deals, but you can really find some great stuff REALLY cheap!  Me, I don't have the money for a whole new wardrobe... even from Target... so that is my suggestion.  You'd be surprised what you can find!

I'll ship them to you, you just pay the shipping...I work in an office, so the clothes are kinda causual enough for the office....so let me know...

Have you tried any thrift shops? I go to two places here in the town I live in and have found some very cute things in all sizes. You would be amazed at what you can find! I just don't believe in spending too much on clothes that you only wear for a few months.

I lived at Motherhood. I loved there clothes and they are not terribly expensive $25-$30 For a pair of really cute jeans,

I hate the close in most of the shops these days.  The maternity, especially for larger women (I wear a XL or 1x) seem horrible.  But!  I found a lot of clothing I liked here and they fit really well.

You can check the local store for what something looks like up close, but the site itself has a huge amount of clothing for sale prices.

WAL MART!!! I have chicken legs so I have trouble wearing their pants. But anyone with normal size legs would fit great into their jeans! They're pretty affordable and actually real cute!

I get alot of my stuff from the sale rack at Motherhood, too. Also have gotten stuff from Elder Beerman that I love. (Don't know if you have one of those near you)

JC Penny's had some great pants for me for work :)

by lawgirl17, Apr 25, 2007 12:00AM
They actually make some expanders you can insert into your current clothes to keep wearing them (you can buy them at Motherhood Maternity, etc.). I used rubber bands until five months and then just couldn't fit anymore! ;0)

Ebay. I got amazing deals in gap and old navy maternity all brand new with tags. I even won a beautiful black gap maternity blazer for $1!

Ebay is good, and so is Ross. I think Motherhood has poor quality, but they seem to be the only maternity store. Target has stuff, and so do Sears and JC Penney's. The department store stuff was the best quality.
