Any truth to Geritol and Pregnancy

Hi my name is stephanie and i am new to this site. well i have been trying to get pregnant for about 7 yrs now. with my ex husband and now with my fiance. when i was with my husband i went to a fertility clinic and they said i had pcos. i am not sure if that is why i seem to not be able to get pregnant or what. all of my friends and younger sisters have kids and it makes me so upset to want a baby more than anything and can't, seem to have one. anyways i have heard about geritol from a couple of people but i am scared to take the because i heard it makes you grow hair in unwanted places and stuff. so has anyone honestly had any side effects from it?

hi ladies i haven't been on in awhile but I just wanted to tell tammy I understand what you are going through. I have miscarried twice and I dont know what is causing it. I was really excited in January when we found out we were pregnant but a few days later I began to bleed and cramp. I was told tht I was threatening a miscarriage and within five days I lost my baby. Hi nadine26. I just wanted to tell you that my doc has me on prometrium which is a progestrone hormone cycle days14 thru 28 unless I get a negative test, if I test positive I stay on it to keep me from miscarrying. I told her about what I was finding out about Geritol online and she said she does have her patients do that at it would be fine for me to try it along with my prometrium. So I don't know if that helps you at all. Good luck!!!

Thank you hun.Its very depressing but am coping,taking each day at a time.Yeah my doctors are going to check to see whats causing my miscarriages,and the 3times i got pregnant,i miscarried all at 5 and a half weeks,so there must be a reason why i can never go above that.If i fall pregnant before they sort things out i will ask them to sew me up.Anyway how r u and hows things going?Good luck and lots of baby dust to you.

Me and my boyfriend had been TTC for about a year.  I also had been trying to gain weight.... one of my co-workers told me that if I took geritol it can help me gain weight but it can also make me fertile. I started taking geritol two months ago, I haven't gained any weight but I found out that I'm about 6 weeks pregnant! I don't know for sure that geritol is the reason... but I feel there is nothing wrong in trying it there are way to many success stories.

Hi MrsSalcedo9, two of my friends (co-workers) took the pills instead of the tonic, and they said it worked for them.  One of them was even told by the doctors that she could never have a child.  Needless to say, she was definitely shocked when she found out.  I think she said she was close to 5 months before she actually found out because there were no real symptoms.

I am going out to buy geritol tomorrow. My husband and I have been trying for over 2 years. I just did an IUI 2 weeks ago with Clomid 100mg,estrace,gonal f and hcg shot and found out today that I am not pregnant. I was so sad. I had uterine polyps removed in October and was hoping that was the reason I wasn't getting pregnant. It was $1000, which we really couldn't afford. Anyway hearing all the success stories makes me excited. I will keep you updated. If geritol does work it will definitely be a miracle. I am getting very discouraged and depressed. I needed something to help me thru this and just feeling that something so cheap might actually work makes me feel so much better.

i have been taking the Geritol Complete pills and they havenot worked for me for the last 2 months. I'm going to try the tonic. everyone says that tonic is the one that works. it's nasty, i heard, but worth it if it'll help get me preggers. good luck.

Oh my God.....!!!! I got my BFP and I've taken two and they are both positive.  I thank God and I can't thank him enough for this blessing.  I want to also thank you ladies for your support.  I know that if you haven't already gotten it you will just do not give up, and keep the faith, you will get it, it may not be when you want it, but you will get it.  I started taking geritol last month and 800mcg after ovulation with the geritol.  I took the pills first but then I started taking the liquid,  but later found that the liquid doesn't have all the vitamins that the pill has so I switched back to the pills.  I have found that if you do not take pills such as vitamins, pain killers, and many other pill medication with a FULL meall and FULL glass of water it will not work as effectively or as soon as it would with food, because when your stomach starts to digest the food it also digests the pill and distributes the minerals and vitamins where need, can't do that on an empty stomach ladies (and this is for those that don't know).  I'm not saying that the liquid will not work because I've heard may sucess stories by the liquid fourm, I'm just saying there is folic acid in the pill and not the liquid and there are more vitamins in the pill than the liquid. You have to take the extra folic acid to prevent birth defects, that can occur in early pregnancy taking the folic acid early prepares your body for that as well.  Just some info I want to share with you because I want all of us to be an success story.  God Bless you all ttc and I will continue to pray for you all and I hope that you will to the same for me..........BLESSSINGS AND STICKY BABY DUST TO ALL TTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!!! I am so happy for you. I just went out and bought the geritol tonic about a half hour ago. If the tonic doesn't work I will switch to the pills. Should I take my prenatal vitamin with the geritol tonic? How long were you trying to get pregnant? I bet you can't even believe it finally happened to you. I pray everything goes well for you. I just bought the geritol liquid today also. They weren't lying when they said it was nasty.
I just pinched my nose closed and swallowed. I just found out I wasn't pregnant yesterday and my AF showed up today. I'm glad so I can try again soon. I started geritol tonic,evening primerose oil and baby aspirin today. I have been trying for 2 years and 3 months. I am just trying whatever I can to get pregnant. Have any other suggestions?

I know it is very very nasty.lol but my doc told me about the evening primerose oil and prenatals and folic acid. Last year after I had my m/c I tried the prenatals and the folic acid for 3 months didnt work. Recently I got the evening primerose I took it once I couldnt stand the after taste I was coughing up that oil all day long(Or it was just in my mind). I dont know anything else at this point. OMG!  I posted back on Feb 4th and I picked up some Geritol complete!  WELL LOW AND BEHOLD!  I found out on SUNDAY - I AM PREGNANT!   - 5 weeks!  So, I believe it really may be a baby in every bottle.  I took it for about a month and it WORKED!

I know it may have just been DIVINE INTERVENTION, but God is STILL GOOD and I wanted to share the exciting news! Before this I had never even heard any about Geritol and pregnancy!  This is my first baby and I'm we are SO EXCITED!

Hey, If you started you period this month along with geritol, I think it would probably be best to wait until your cycle is due next month to test just so you dont get any false results by testing too early. Im now on my second bottle of GC, I started on the tonic but I didnt start it until after I had ovulated for the month I didnt get pregnant last month in which I kinda figured I wouldnt because of the time of the month I started taking it., so now we are jus playing the waiting game to see if we made something happen for this month.

Yes ma'am you could very much so be Preggo, you may want to try and test again in like a week If u are pregnant your hcg levels could be too low for the test to detect. Are you periods very consistent every month or do you have a crazyy cycle where it comes when it wants...

Hi everyone, how keeping? I noticed about a month after taking the GC that I have become very irritable. I also noticed that I have put on weight,  maybe about 3 lbs. I am sorry to hear about the miscarriage, I too had an ectopic pregnancy o April 17, 2008.  My first pregnancy with my husband.  I know the pain, I was 3 months and had to abort the baby.  That was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life.  If I wouldn't have aborted it, It might have ruptured inside of me and there was a chance that I could bleed to death on the inside.  It is something very painful.  The only advice I can give to anyone is to hold ur head high and be strong, God has something planned special for each and everyone of us.  I will be starting this geritol tomorrow and hopefully I will have some good results.  May god bless us all and eep ur head up.  GOOD LUCK.

My OBGYN put me on PreCare Conceive (prenatal vitamins) and she say that this will help me to get pregnant. Has anyone else ever heard about this? I pray something works it feels as though it will just not happen.

Whats up, girls? Well, I am two days late. I expected AF fromTues. This doesnt usually happen. The girls are VERY tender and sensitive. Hussie cant even touch them. He is the one to point out how AF is not here as yet.I have not done any tests yet. I am waiting till the weekend. hi, ive got a baby boy and strangely after he was born i started getting irregular periods and it kept getting worse. i went to the OBGYN and she told me i had PCOS. im trying to concieve now and it has been 2 months. im on metformin and i feel a good difference, my periods are regular and ive been able to control my weight.  I'm also taking folic acid. i googled 'ovulation calculator' and found several websites that help detect the dates of ovulation. once i detected mine i took the ovulation test which was positive... lets hope it all works.  i wish you all well and may God bless you all will a healthy lovely little child.

My husband and I had been trying to conceive for almost 5 years.  I had heard over the years to take Geritol, but I didn't take interest in it.  About a months ago, I was discussing with a friend my situation of always being cold and she told me that I may have low iron and that I should maybe take Geritol.  That got me to thinking about my visit to the fertility doctor last year for IUI treatments.  He told me then that the embryo probable did not take because of my thin uterus lining which is a result of low iron.  I researched Geritol for the iron content and immediately ran to the store to purchase the tonic (I've been told the liquid form gets into your system faster).  I started taking it right away in the middle of my cycle.  I am now 6 weeks pregnant.

hi everyone, my husband (29) & I (34) have been ttc for almost 20 months now. For the last 8 mos I've had irregular periods so my doctor prescribed me provera for uterine bleeding took that for 10 days then my AF stopped for TWO MONTHS!! So I called him back then he prescribed me megestrol then 14 days later AF came back in the worse as for 6 whole days. So I said well maybe I'm back on track now. AF came Oct 3rd for 5 days. Afterwards someone recommended we try GC. I shrugged it off but currently been taking it a week now. And on Sunday AF came again!! I was so upset. Now I call my doctor today because now I have to have a SIS and it has to be done right after AF. I am a mom of three my husband and has none. I've been so depressed about it all we've taken at 17 test all with BFN! So I'm hoping within a couple if weeks we can find out the source of the problem. But until then I will keep taking my GC and praying our baby is in the bottle. Baby dust to you all!

My periods were also irregular, my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for 7 years. I found out that I stressed my self out with the ideal of wanting it so badly. My Hubby and I have been trying to conceive for almost a year now with no luck. I have two kids already and so does he. I stopped taking my Depo shot almost a year ago when we started trying to conceive, but I had been on it for about 6 to 7 years so I already anticipated a delay for us getting pregnant. I just started taking Geritol Complete pills today. My mother swears by it working, she said my 25 year old brother was conceived by her just simply taking Geritol pills so I figure it sure wouldn't hurt to try it if it worked for my mom when she had a hard time conceiving. A older lady told her years ago Geritol really works and it did for her so we'll see if it works for me too!

My fiance and I have been trying to concieve for six months, we just recently tried GC which gave me a cycle within the first weeks of taking it and i have been irregular for years. My last  cycle was months ago b/c of my irregular periods. I thank GOD i finally had one last month on the 10th and i'm praying GC works. Then..to add insult to injury, my husband had a sperm test ran and the lab said that his count was far too low to impregnate me. Both of us started taking Geritol at the end of February. Hello everyone! My name is lanette, I'm 26 yrs old. I have been in a relationship for 9 years. I got pregnant last year finally after all theses years. At 4 months pregnant I found out my baby girl had trisomy 13 which is a rare chromosome abnormality. I was forced by my doctor and bf to abort. Being told by specialist that our baby had a 10% chance of life and if she do make it she won't live long and she will b handicap and alot of other things wrong. Hello Everyone, I was on this site about a year or so ago and I was trying to get pregnant. I tried the geritol tonic and also the pills. I don't want to discourage you, but it just didnt work for me. I can now say that I am 8 weeks and 6 days pregnant today!  I wasn't taking any medications or anything. I just prayed and gave it to God! I also just forgot about it and started enjoying my life, and it happened! So to all the believers out there. Just pray, God hears you and knows the desires of your hearts. He will do exactly what you ask, it may not be right when you want it, but when it comes it will be definately on time. I have this friend who is about to be 28 this year. She already has a 5 year old daughter and with complications on that pregnancy she was told that she probably wouldn't be able to get pregnant. So, last week I found out that she was pregnant. OMG!. Me and my fiance has been together for about 2 1/2 years.. He's 29 and I'm 28 We both have a birthday coming up in January. Neither of us have kids and we both are now ready to conceive. Back in March 2007 I found out I was pregnant immediately started experiencing complications and later had a miscarriage. I was told that I had an ectopic pregnancy. Oh it was painful. Before then I thought that I couldn't get pregnant. So of course I was heartbroken. I began to think again... I don't want children anyway. Long story short, My friend broke down and told me that she started taking Geritol because of her low iron. 3 weeks later she found out she was pregnant. I am now on my second day of taking them and I'm interested in what will happen. I can now say that because I had no faith in being able to get pregnant again. I just took on the attitude of not wanting children... but after reading all these success stories about there being "A baby in every bottle" I have to try. I'm not getting any younger and I am a lot more stable than I was 2 years ago and I would love to have my own little baby. We've even decided on names, if I were to become pregnant.

Today is my 3rd day taking the tonic. I tell people either I'm the luckiest woman in the world or the most hated because I haven't been pregnant since '01. Plus my period is like clockwork. I'm really feeling like this is going to work, fertility treatments are not completely covered by my insurance and my deductible doesn't go down until January. Thinking about it, I should take another tablespoon now....Oh be careful taking to many multivitamins at once, there is a risk of overdose.

Hello, I am new to this board and I first wanted to say that I am thankful to know that I am not alone in my journey to have a baby.  My husband and I have been ttc for 3 yrs.  I've gone to the doctor and he said that i am normal and that there is nothing wrong with my husband and I.  We got pregnant in April of 09 and lost it at 7 weeks.  I was devastated because we've tried for awhile.  Now I am ready ttc again and nothing is happening.  Every month is hope and disappointment.  I've read many success stories on this site .  Without this website I'd probably be buried in tears and loneliness....Because of this website I still have hope and faith that god has a plan for us. I was a gym goer for awhile and recently stopped because of my strenuous exercises. My AF used to  be from 30-35 days.  Now its currently starting at 28 days. Just relaxing and just jogging with no high intensity work out like I use too.   I started drinking Geritol for about a couple weeks.  I am currently waiting for AF due next weekend.   I know that its just probably a old wives tale but i'm willing and trying anything. I pray that there is a *baby in my bottle*
