Anyone else ever have a cervical polyp cause lengthy spotting in early pregnancy?

I am currently seven weeks PG and I have had spotting ranging from dark brown to darkish pink ever since a few daysb/f I got my BFP. The spotting was kind of irregular but not it is every am and then less as the day goes on. I have seen a baby with a heart beat on an early U/S at 6 w 1d and a,m scheduled to go back for another on Thurs. I had a vaginal exam which revealed a small polyp and was told that this very well could be the cause of my spotting. I am feeling better now that I kind of know what is causing it but spotting every morning is very distressing. Does this sound right to y'all. I have never heard of polyps in PG before or anyone spotting this long!!! Will it continue the entire time? If anyone has ever been in this situation I would greatly appreciate some advice. Thanks

Hi. I had one and I was spotting from week 0 until 26 weeks.  They told me it will go away on it's own during delivery. It did go away like I was told.  IN fact it's common during pregnancy. Good luck.

Hi Sallie.  I'm 24 weeks with my first child, 43 years old.  I have a polyp the size of a lentil.  By cervical entry.  After seeing a specialist my OB referred me to, I was told as well that it is common as is the spotting throughout the pregnancy and if the spotting doesn't stop by delivery that the polyp more often than not will disappear then.  Otherwise, so long as your doctor tells you that your cervix is "long, tight and closed" and the polyp has no effect on your pregnancy, you're not in any pain and have no cramping, you'll be fine.  Live your life day to day but use common sense.  Be gentle on yourself when exercising, lifting, working.  You're no the boss now.  Your baby is.  :-)  Best of luck.
